good morning Peas. I didn't do WI yesterday as I lost the scales so I did it this morning.
WI is 192.0 or 97.1 I went up but I was grazing all holidays so it was to be expected.
I have to be honest with myself as I wont learn otherwise, that's why I took biscuits out of circulation. Now I don't go down that isle unless for coffee or hot chocolate.

I am off to work this morning and then gym. I have my gym bag packed and ready.

Paula STRONG sound sounds like a great word and a good way of thinking.
Ronda That is great news about little Scotty. I am so glad he is getting better. He isn't on those tablets anymore?

Anne, I really like the blog you shared about positive self talk. Currently, my favorite is from Spark Coach Nicole; "Strong is the new Skinny!!" So, my neice and I are working to be STRONG, we don't talk about being skinny. It really reshapes what our minds are suggesting to ourselves about what is important.

Ronda, I am loving the group with all of us participating. It is very motivational, and inspiring. YEAH forScotty and praise God for his healing.

Good morning!!!
Is it my imagination or does our little group seem to be more perky lately. People seem to be smiling! Good to see.

Paula I am so happy that you are feeling so good. That you are healing right up.

Today's weigh in..... still the same... no lose-no gain. 252.2

Today starts Mya's 2 week plan. This is day one so for the next 2 weeks no eating out.... I wonder if she remembers. … Yesterday I pointed out to her that I am 80 minutes ahead of her and she still didn't even do 10 yesterday.

Scotty (my very sick dog) is doing better. About a week ago I gave him homemade chicken broth. And it seem to perk him up a little. Yesterday he was eating dry dog food out of the food dish on his own. He slowly progressed his way there but he made it. The last few days he hasn't had diarrhea and this morning he had a normal bowel movement... first one in a month. Thank God he is getting better..

I put my pinto beans on last night. They seem to be tender today. I did cheat and brought them to a boil on the stove and let them sit for 1.5 hours before I put them in crockpot. This morning I added bell pepper and onion. Need to go to the grocery store and get fresh chili and corn. I have the chicken and tomatoes. I also put a couple of handfuls of rice in it. That should have plenty of time of getting soft by dinner time.

I can't wait to see what Mya plans for our Monday menu. That reminds me I forgot to take the berries out of the freezer.

Did I tell you my cherry tomato plant has it's first baby tomato on it and my baby bell pepper plant has a couple of baby bell peppers on it!!

Time to get dress and go for a walk.. I think I am going to shake Mya out of bed. I need her to get use to getting up at 5. She has to catch the school bus at 630 and she is one of those girls that like to do her hair and makeup before going to school. And I haven't had to get on her about her make up-- She puts it on very light. So I don't have a problem with it.

Weekends feel very different from Weekdays. The BEST NEWS is the heat wave has broken here. It is only going to be in the 80s today. That makes me very happy. Looking forward to being able to go outside again this afternoon. Walked this morning with my DH and dog.


Ullapool : Eat 2 servings of Veggies, Salad, tomatoes, cucumbers.


Stornoway and 20 dead lifts (Had to look them up so I would know what to do)


Tarbet : 1 day MENU = Breakfast; Cereal, Banana, Almond Milk
Lunch; Salad, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Cauliflower
Dinner; Chicken, Broccoli and Quinoa with Mushrooms.


I am looking for a new recipe so that I can continue on my way.

I seem to be healing from my biopsy, good news I have not had any bleeding and NO pain. Best News. Now, I just need to get the results soon and I can put this behind me.

Working on Sunday's menu..

Breakfast.... Frozen Berry's with plain non fat Greek yogurt... Breakfast parfait..

Lunch...….Lettuce salad with 3 beans salad mix in- and diced tomatoes & corn.

Dinner.... crockpot chicken stew

snack 1... celery w/peanut butter (per mya)

snack 2... cucumber slices

New recipe... crockpot chicken taco stew (this recipe can be made better. Instead of using can every thing you can swap out for fresh.) but here's the link to my idea... recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?

I'll use dry pinto beans, take corn from a cob, chop up fresh tomatoes, add fresh chili peppers, onion, a touch of rice, skinless chicken breast, Chili powder, cumin, cilantro, fresh garlic. That should reduce the sodium and make it fresher and healthier. Heck if I'm going to use the crockpot - I might as well use it's full potential .

Anne I love salmon. By the way Spark people recipes has a bourbon glazed salmon recipe that looks really good

Hehehehehehe….I've been sneaking off early in the morning while Mya is still sleeping. I'm on line 15 and she is still on 8. Hehehehe
I still need to plan 1 day menu...
Try a new food or recipe... I really like this one.. That's how I tried dragon fruit for the first time. It's really pretty and I like it. Couldn't decide to eat it or frame it.. LOL
I'll try to plan Sunday's menu with a new recipe. That will take care of both of them.

good morning today I am going to try a new recipe and plan my day's menu.

Breakfast was All bran with skim milk.
Lunch we are going to Morpeth to get Honey so it will be Fish and Chips for 1 and we will share.
Dinner. Salmon and some Vegies on the side.

Salmon is something new as I will have vegies with it and bake it with some lemon which I don't normally do.

I am so glad that we formed this little group. We are such a good team. Keep up the good work Ronda.

Paula I'm glad the procedure wasn't horrible. So happy you got to talk to one of your friends. Hope you feel up to calling one a day until list is done.

I think Mya is behind by 40 minutes. And yesterday I only did 13 minutes. Today is King Cupboard day... I hope to find time to do something tonight but I'll probably be tired and sore by then. Today is a hard day on me.

I'll do more than 10 minutes of walking and lifting today.

By the way today is day 7 of me logging in!! My old record was 283 days. let's see if I can beat that.

OK, it is still Thursday, and I am home and the biopsy wasn't too bad. Just a little irritating. I did call one of my friends on my list.We talked for about a half hour. And, that ws enough talk for me for today.


TAIN and a nice light breakfast before my procedure. Cereal, banana with Almond Milk. And, a cup of coffee.

Sweet dreams to ALL PEAS!!

Good morning... Went for a very short walk. 14 minutes. At least I still made my 10. Feeling blue. Oh well...

Paula I didn't mean call all the friends in one day. LOL How big is your list? You may want to space them out if you have long conversations. Enjoy reconnecting!
Paula I use "Map My Walk" app to track my miles. It's really cool. It post the route I walk too.

Yes Anne giving up biscuit is great habit to change. Love that you taken on 2. Mya came up with an idea last night... For the next 2 weeks we are suppose to give up 9 things... I told her that's a little much at one time. So it changed to Day one we give up eating out; Day 5 we add no sweets (no sugar) to the list; Day 10 add no chips (carbs)… Still a lot....

Ronda I have so many that is why I am stuck. I only can change one or start a new one emoticon
So I have decided to do two. start a new one that may push things along a bit. I am starting strength class called Body Pump on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. What I am doing is going to gym my usual time and doing cardio only on those days and then setting up for the class and coming back later. I stopped doing these as I like the back row and I couldn't get it so I spoke to the instructor and she told me I could set up early. Its a confident thing.

Second one is to give up biscuits. I buy these when I go down the coffee isle so I am going to train my eyes not to look at them.

Is this allowed??

I am off for a walk today instead of gym just to get out of the house and into the sunshine.
I am doing a new course soon for Library just so I have a back up plan for retirement. I know I cannot do the job I am doing for ever as it is very mentally demanding so I have decided to learn this so I can still work but at a different pace.

HOWDY PEAS!!! Sure is late for me. emoticon I added several minutes to my walk with the dog. My niece showed me how I can use my cell phone to track my miles as I walk. So, now I can get in my minimum which is one mile. My goal is to hit 3 miles every time we walk. I also needed to pick up a book from the library this morning before it got too hot. Then, worked out at the Wellness Center with my neice. GOOD WORKOUT DAY.

DOMOCH and I made a list of friends I want to call. And, my goal is to call them tomorrow after my biopsy. I know I am expected to take it easy and rest when I get home. So, this will be a fun way to relax. GREAT IDEA RONDA!!!

#7 Suggestions!!!!
Mya and I changed our Bible Study time. (Since you have winter going on maybe there is something that you use to do at a certain time and now that time don't work.

Maybe set a goal to make a pot of soup or homemade thing once a week to divide up into smaller portion for the week. Make and store a weeks food.,

Add a new exercise to your workout. Or do your workout in reverse. Little things like that can keep you from plateau-

Make a goal to do something special for yourself or for someone else daily..or weekly.

Start a new project and set a deadline of when to complete it. Make a craft. Start a new hobby or revive an old one.

Do you need to clean the fridge-organize the junk drawer-maybe the craft closet- guest room-are there rooms, closet, drawers that need special attention... Set a goal to do one or two a week --

Make a list of friends you haven't spoken to in a long time and set a goal to call them.

What is there that you always think to yourself you want to do but never get to it? Do it.

Add one more serving of veggies or fruit to your daily intake. They say we should eat 7-10 (per heart association)

I don't know what all you do now. But you can add something new to your wake up routines (as soon as you get out of bed) or before bed routine.

Just try to find something new or improve something daily. (if possible)
Doesn't have to be a lifetime commitment- only needs to be something for a month so goals can work too.

Must be nice not to have a bad habit that needs to go bye-bye... I have hundreds of them. Like staying away from sweets and chips!!

By the way Paula on getting rid of that sweet tooth!!! That's really awesome. I think you deserve a prize.... go get yourself a massage- you deserve it!!

I snuck out and walked Keoni before Mya woke up. Hahaha.. She'll have to play catch up again. Today we have a lot to do so she won't have time. Unless she catches me being sneaky. I really didn't want to work out today but I had to do at least 10 so I'm good.

Got Mya enrolled into school yesterday. She starts a week from today. Mya was complaining because this school doesn't have an early release day every week. I reminded her that this school gives her a whole day off every week instead of early release. Which is better a day off or a half a day off. She doesn't have school on Friday's. she is really happy with her schedule. She took chemistry, Agricultural biology, Algebra, Choir (wants advance choir-new school so she has to try out), world history and English. And she will take geometry online- she needs to make up one semester.

emoticon Paula you can do as many minutes as you want daily. Just need to do at least 10. Or 20 minimum if you want. I'm doing 10. And I'm on line 11. If any of us get done with line 75 we can continue adding towns and challenges until the race is over. It will last the same time as our moveit challenge. At 10 mins each line I estimated line 75 is about 30 minutes a day. Now we don't have to do all the minutes at one time... if you want to do 20 in the morning and 10 in the evening to make 30... go for it. If one day you want to do 70 and you are using 20 min lines then you only get credit for 60 on the sheet. (you lose the 10) For example yesterday I did 35 so I could only move 3 lines (10 per line) and I lost 5. But that doesn't matter because we put our full time on the moveit challenge and we add it into our team points.
Ok do I have you confused now.... Regarding the sheets- only move as far as you can with your minutes per day. It's ok. It doesn't matter where we end up on our sheet... I was trying to make them last for the month. So hopefully there are more stops than you can get done in a month-- since each of your stops is 20 minutes. PLEASE -whatever you do don't do less minutes because it doesn't match your sheet. If you usually do 75 minutes maybe try to get an extra 5 but don't do 60 instead of your 75... Paula we don't carry over left over minutes to the next day.

hey Ronda I like number 3 but if your daring go for #4 as I really like that one too. It's out there if you know what I mean not as much as #1 more subtle.

I just WI and yes its not our day but I did and put on so I'm really going to watch this.

but on a NSV note I had peanut brittle yesterday and I threw it away as it was too sweet. I also threw out some other lollies as we went to the lolly shop and I bought lollies from my childhood days and I didn't like them anymore as they were all to sweet.
I am off to do some housework before gym. chat again later.

emoticon , thanks for asking for our input, I LIKE #3 the turquoise car. It reminds me of my childhood. Also, thought pulling your choice from a hat is a fun idea.

Just got home after our walk. I added a couple of blocks to our journey today. I am thinking although we walked 45 minutes today. I will only post 20 minutes and save the other 25 for Thursday. I was going to just post ZERO on Thursday. But, that makes me feel like I didn't reach my goals. emoticon

Ronda, do you think it is OK for me to split up my minutes into 2 days?? I am hoping you will agree with me. emoticon

Paula I've been trying to get her on regular workout. They have one called easy line every Monday & Wednesday for a half hour. That's the one I introduced her to a couple of weeks ago. But really hard to get her consistent. The easy line is similar to the curves workout.

Good to Know, I will update my Fitness Minutes for this week.

I am trying to get in lots of exercise before I have my biopsy on Thursday. They told me I will need to take a break and rest afterwards. NO EXERCISE. I don't know how long they want me to rest for healing?? I am hoping it will only take a few days. I want to be able to go to my SPLASH (water aerobics class) on Monday.


I am having troucle loading images today. Frustrating. emoticon Judt had to clear several files that had gotten stuck. Now, I am ready to share my travels in Scotland.

A picture I found of Lenvick, reminds me of the Northern Lights. I wonder if that is what this is?? I do "Modified Jump Jacks" as my knees can not hold if I jump on them.

Anne, your quote about fear is a good one for me. Every morning, I must pump myself up with courage and walk out the front door. After, I have walked for about 20 minutes, I can tell I am not as afraid as I was when I woke up. It does make a difference to get out and face that fear. GOOD ADVICE: "GO OUT and GET BUSY"!! emoticon

emoticon emoticon IT seems like the heat of the sun is getting us UP and out of bed early today. We got up at 5:30 this morning and went for a walk and it was lovely. Afterwards, we did some shopping for essentials around the homestead. I needed more Kleenex. Everytime, I eat, I get a sneezing attack and a runny nose. Going through a box a week.

I hope the library is open today so taht I can print out the Island Hopping Info.

WEIGH-IN today is the SAME as EVERY OTHER DAY!!! Anne, I am doing the same thing as you mentioned. I am trying to focus on other NSV andHEALTH BENEFITS other than the scale. I know it will move eventually.

The pills the vet put him on are pain pills. But I will look them up. When he had quit eating I couldn't get any meds down him. He hasn't taken any for about 4 days so far. He is walking...
But he still having some diarrhea but at least he is eating. Today will be his 3rd day at eating. Bought diapers for him but really hard to keep them on.



Mya and I got up at 5 am and went for a walk. It was already in the 80's. Today we are going to try to get the window film on her glass doors. Try to cut out some of th heat in her room.

Wi Sunday. 87.0 or 191.8 so I have put on 300grms but it could be fluid or muscle with all the workouts I have been doing.

I have to get a new mindset on exercise so I am tweeking my goals a little. Since all the challenges with the BLC and the 10,000 steps I have been losing interest in my goals so I am focusing on more healthy instead of losing weight as I am getting depressed as the scales don't want to move as quickly as I like.

I know when you get to a certain age it is harder to lose the weight so I was reading the new challenge and I really like this as you have a little challenge after every 10-20 minutes of exercise. Which will get me motivated again.

I did a lot of exercise yesterday and now I feel like I don't want to get out of bed. It was for a good course though. We had the launch of the new gym classes so I had to do that and then they had Zumba for Domestic Violence so another good course.

Ronda What tablets was Scotty on as I went to the vet for Tammy and she gave me these tablets that made her muscles weak but at the time I didn't know and I put her down and then did research on the tablets.

Google the name of the tablets and just check what they are and do for the dog.

I started the day early with volunteering and got home in less than2 hours. Made the DH happy, he wants to go shopping early before it is HOT as YOU KNOW WHAT emoticon

Tomorrow begins our race!! FYI>>> The blue places are coast line... The black ink ones are inland. When I started out it was going to be a mixture because I didn't think there were enough places on the coast from looking at the small map but when I started using the other map I found a whole other side of the island. One side (where I began) was the Atlantic ocean The other side is the North Sea.. This might be a dumb question but why is it ocean on one side and sea on the other? For some reason I always thought it was ocean around an island.

Are you ready for tomorrow? By the way when I made the doc I couldn't seem to get the last 3 pages deleted without deleting the whole thing. So if you print you only need pages 1-4.

Thursday... We decided to put Scotty down... No improvement.... liquid pouring out of both ends-can't walk or get up-- So we called that morning and they could take him in at 5pm. He hasn't ate or drank anything in 4 days and for 2 weeks he couldn't walk. That afternoon I tried feeding him again and he ate. So we cancelled putting him down and decided to give him one more day. Jonathan made the remark prayer won't change nature. I told him yes it can. God can do anything. So a put a pair of depends on Scotty for the night- Friday morning Scotty was up walking and eating and drinking. He doesn't have any stuff coming out of his bottom anymore. I went to King's Cupboard and when I got home Scotty was at the door with tail wagging to say hi. He's doing great!!! Jonathan saw God's work --now I hope it opens his eyes and heart. Scotty's still an old dog but he is doing good like he was a month ago. Maybe even better. He hasn't been on any of his pain meds for the past 4 days or so because I couldn't get him to take them. Thank you God!

Thursday I took Keoni to the groomers and while we were there Mya asked her if she could use a volunteer. And then she said you don't even have to pay me. LOL I thought that was so funny. But the lady said she could use a volunteer once in awhile so today and Monday are her first days at the groomers. I hope this works out. She loves animals.

Jonathan is planning on taking off today for a few days. He is planning on going to Phoenix. I am so worried!!!! He hasn't been driving long and he has never went to Phoenix in his own truck before (by himself). I hope he doesn't let his friends distract him while he is driving. You know how 18 years old can be. I hope he doesn't try to show off in front of them.

Boy things around here keep changing. Jonathan tried getting his GED but his case worker has never got him going. This has been going on since April. Well School starting soon and Jonathan is thinking of going back to High School. All he has is his Senior year. So I think that's a good thing. And he's 18 so he's still young enough to go back.

emoticon Ronda, I am happy to hera you are calling in sick. Not that you are sick, BUT becausee I think you are very busy and can use some time for YOU!! It is important to take some time out for just you. And, if you are NOT rushed, I am sure you will make better decisions at the grocery store.

I joined the MOVE-IT Challenge.

I had a wonderful lunch with my niece and nephews. WE laughed so much and I enjoyed myself more than I can remember in a long time. I wish we would get together more often. We said we are going to do it again soon. I surely hope we do.

Anne Paula is correct about contacting them through the message board... But you can also go to the bottom of the page to where it says contact us -click on that.. I used the site thread but I also had great results using the contact us link. Remember when we were having problems with this thread... the contact link fixed the problem quickly. Member Support

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday and I truly planned on going. The kids had their eye exams and Jonathan glasses where increased by 30%. With his glasses on he couldn't see the letters on the wall. That's how bad they were. He put a rush on his new glasses so he should get them today.

I'm not going to work the office today. Calling in sick. Haven't been feeling to great and with the dog sick- I haven't been getting anything done at home and we need to go grocery shopping.

The logging in everytime I tried to post was a problem for me several years ago. I don't know what is different on my computer now from then?? But, I do know, Contacting SPARK HELP through the "Message Boards" and Technical Site Thread will get you answer that almost always helps me. emoticon

SO sorry about Mya not being ablet to join Spark. And, I am very sad to read about Scotty. Praying for peace and comfort for ALL of you emoticon

Yesterday, I had my best day on the treadmill, I am going for 3 miles. But, I am still in the beginning phase of this goal. I did do one mile at 2 mph, which is good for me. Had to take a break as my left leg started to drift off the belt. It scared me, made me feel like I was going to fall. So, I stopped. We did another 30 minutes on the weight machines. Getting easier. I am still happy.

I SO agree, exercising is very good for our mental health as well as out physical health. My niece and I were just talking about how good it is to put all the negative thoughts to bed. And, get them out of our heads!!

ANNE, I love the graphic you posted about why you like exercise. Where did you find it?

went to the gym yesterday and then lots of walking.
QOTD Does anyone else have to log in twice to Spark or is it just me? every time I go to post a message I have to log in first, it used to take me straight to this but now I re-log in. Its frustrating.

I am going to do gardening today and get it ready for spring. I keep putting it off but it is warmer outside and I am sore from gym and washing walls so I thought this may help.

Good Morning!

Bad news..... Sparkpeople won't let Mya join because you have to be 18. So she is going to play from the side lines and I will put both of our results in here but she can't do the #moveit challenge part with us.

YES!!!! WE START SUNDAY JULY 14TH!!

I also talked to Mya about stopping me from chips & sweets. So we are going to slow each other down on snacks. We don't have all the wrinkles worked out of this idea but I guess it will resolve itself as we go. We need to come up with reward and discipline for the behaviors. Mya suggested for so many grams of sugar you do so many jumping jacks. I think we skip the grams of sugar... and everytime you snack on something you do a chore or loose a privilege. I don't think we should use fitness as a discipline because I don't want my brain to start to think of fitness as a punishment. Maybe a gold star every day that we stay out of the cookie jar LOL I don't want Mya to learn she can't have snacks but I need her to learn how to snack. You can also eat too many healthy snacks in a day. So we need to work on a balance. I need to come up with a substitution for hand to mouth syndrome. Maybe I should start sucking on a pacifier (JUST KIDDING).

My kids went to a doughnut shop in Portland and brought me back a huge x-rated doughnut. The grandkids thought I was going to get mad at Joshua. I can't believe they found x-rated doughnuts.

Kids came home yesterday and I think Scotty getting worse. I had to get Jonathan up early to carry Scotty outside so I could clean my carpet. His back legs are not working very good. I tried to give him a bite of steak and he wouldn't take it... So there is no way I can give him his meds today. He did take them last night. Jonathan wants to wait and see how he does today. If he is going to die I wish God would take him quickly. He's not crying so maybe he not in pain. But he can't get up.

I'm suppose to go to the gym. I probably should do that soon or I won't go. Today I have some errands to do and kids have eye exams this morning.

Have a great day. And I better go to the gym now and get it out of the way. I need to get the kids up in about an hour so we can get ready to go.

I did a good workout yesterday. Gym and Zumba and I am sore. I did over 15,000 steps and started doing the next bedroom. Up and down a step ladder and my Glutes are stiff so I going to be doing some stretches today.

WISHING the PEAS a HAPPY TUESDAY!!!


There is a homeless cat that sits on the back stairs of our apartment complex. My DH says it belongs to one of the tenants on our floor. It is so SAD to me, the cat sits and crys all day long. When I tried to leave to take my dog out this morning, the cat was in the hallway and tried to get into our home. LUCKY I was able to shut the door before it got it. I KNOW my dog would NOT have been happy baout the visitor. I thought about how I was going to get out, lock my door and exit the building without an altercation. I decided to leave the door unlocked (IT WAS SO EARLY) very few people awake and active. Also, carry the dog.
So that is what I did and all turned out OK. The cat followed us down the flight of stairs. When we got to the bottom, I put my dog down, they both looked at each other like "WHAT IS THIS?" One of them took a step in the other's direction, NO GOOD!! We were able to get going on our walk. As we were about to head to home, I saw the kitty watching us. emoticon NEW TO OUR DAY

The management company will be painting our stairwell today. So we must use the back stairwell. I don't think I will be leaving again. We will see??

HI PEAS, I am back after my Silver Sneaker SPLASH Class. I am sore and feeling good about my workout and my sore body. IT was a GOOD WORKOUT!!

And, RONDA, I think your suggestion that Anne and I workout at 20 minute Intervals on our Island Hopping. Let's move on with the Sheet being completed at 75 stops.

Not a bad idea Anne.. Right now the kids don't stop me from eating anything. Maybe they should do with me Like I would do with them-- lose privileges for bad behavior. Or extra chores?

The kids come home tomorrow. I leave early to go to Vegas to pick them up. I'm glad they are coming home. Maybe Scotty will feel better. He can barely move. Maybe when Mya gets here he'll perk up and be better or it might be time to put the poor old dog down. I don't want to make that decision. I keep asking God to either heal him or take him but quit making him have really bad days. I thought he was going to die Friday. Sat he was a tiny bit better. Yesterday I thought he was going to be ok until night time. Now here we go again. He can't stand up. Poor thing. Makes me so sad. I hope he's not in pain. He isn't crying but doesn't move. Maybe when Mya gets home maybe he feel better then. He could be really lonely.

Question???? Since both of you do over 1000 minutes-- Instead of every 10 minutes -- why don't you 2 go every 20 minutes to the next destination. I'll work at 10 and you 2 work at 20?? That way the sheet is done. 70 stops x 20 minutes =1400 minutes. What do you think??

Howdy RONDA, YES, the link for the Island Games works for me and I LIKE IT!!!
How many days per week are we counting to calculate the number of Fitness Minutes we do in a month emoticon I flucuate from one day to the next depending upon what I do on a specific day. My best estimate is that I come in very close to what Anne is reporting. My estimate is 1200 minutes per month.

ME = 35
TOTAL = 2439

ok Ronda I do around 1200 fitness minutes depending on how I feel so I should be able to do this. On a average day at the gym I do around an hour, but if I average this out 21min a day. If I do this 5 days a week instead of 3 I probably would get fitter quicker but like I said it depends on my mood. I love Zumba but I haven't done this for 2 weeks, I make excuses not to.

This week since I am doing the step challenge with my daughter I am doing more as it is hard doing this amount of steps.

Paula I was on a plateau for a while and thought the scales were broken. You do get frustrated but hang in there it will be worth it.

Ronda, 10 min video or You Tube. Don't go too hard on yourself. Think of ways to avoid the food, can you put them in a different spot so they are out of eyesight from you. Tell the kids to go mad at you every time you go to have them, that's what I did, I got the kids involved and it worked. emoticon

Now they are not here I just don't buy them but when I do that's my down fall as there is no one to share with so you eat the whole lot..

GOOD MORNING. I was ready to post my WEIGH-IN earlier today, but just as I was about to do so, my DH said, your OAtmeal is ready. I finally found myw ay back to post I am weighing in the SAME. I just ready an article by another Spark Member, she ws on a Plateau for 3 months. If, I follow in her footsteps, I must be getting near the end of this thing. Just happy no gaining.

emoticon ANNE, you have now lost weight for 2 weeks. AWESOME and you are doing emoticon on your 10,000 steps each day. Yes, I do make a "Honey Do List". But he has been having back issues this Holiday. So, it has been different.

RONDA, I am making a list of exercise that I can do for 10 minutes. How many Fitness Minutes do I do in a month? I am researching this. Some days I do 50 minutes and on other days I do 75+minutes. So, I am trying to determine an average.

Island hopping map


Cities of Scotland

I'll be using these 2 maps for our locations. Each location will be 10 fitness minutes. You can do 80 if you like in one day but remember you need to do all 8 little fun challenges. The reason I stayed with 10 is on the days we don't want to exercise WE MUST DO AT LEAST 10 FITNESS MINUTES. NO ZERO DAYS!!! And since I've been lacking in that this should be a challenge for me. NO ZERO DAYS!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!! I usually do 30 minutes on Mon & Wed--- I need to start doing 10 on the rest of the days!!

I was thinking we should make a list of 10 fitness minutes we can do when we don't want to exercise. Example:
Walk dog
walk around the mall (window shopping)
10 minute upper body workout (and make one to follow)

So make a list of what you can do for 10 fitness minutes for back up on those zero days!!! We all need to make a list to fall back on.

My mom wants me to go to a craft fair today with her but doesn't know what time. So I guess sometime today I'll be going.

How many destinations should I use for our challenge? This will be running for a month... 28 days.... If I do 100 locations that equals 1,000 fitness minutes... divide that by 28 days and it's averages out to 35 3/4 minutes daily.
Anne what is your monthly minutes?

I want to make sure I have enough locations.

Anne we can't let you get unmotivated because its' cold. I'm so happy to see your weight loss. Yes the island hopping is where we do fitness mins to move to the next place plus there is a small challenge. Example... 10 min Kauai island.. challenge 15 min. MeTime. once completed you go on to the next island. 10 fitness mins. Big Island.. challenge do the salsa , etc. ………………..I'll be back...……..

I gained. sorta... 252.2 a year ago I was down to 199.8... last week I was 253.2 but I didn't record it. I lost 1 from last week but gained a whole bunch since we started this friend thread. It's hard. I have the kids here now. Cooking for them. Sweets in the house, chips too. But I have been going to the gym twice a week. I also volunteer at the church 3 days a week. Only from 9am-1pm. Still too much free time to munch. I really need to get this under control.

it is WI time and I will look at that in a minute. It is very foggy here. I have been doing a lot of walking and yesterday I went on two walks which was nice. I did over 13,ooo steps which I was happy with. I am going to the gym this morning and then heading off to the park to catch up with my daughter and GC.

Paula did you have a long list of things you want done now that he is on holidays. That's what I do.

Ronda Island Hopping sounds like fun, I checked out the link and I am in. Scotland and Ireland looks interesting. I like the small challenge as it gives us something to aim for. I am getting less motivated as it is getting colder.

My DH has been on a holiday since Weds this week. I am starting to feel confused about what day it is and what I am doing. It is different having someone in the house, when it is normal for me to be alone and have the rule of the roost.
