Vidyarp! Good for you! Sounds like you have already made some very positive changes. Also please track your food on Spark, no matter what plan you are following. Also take advantage of all the reading resources on Spark, they have helped me tremendously. Most of all listen to yourself and your body. I have found over the years just because people are in some kind of professional field doesn't always make them right. Know your body know yourself and sometimes go with what that is telling you. If you are a paid member of Spark I highly recommend Premium Coaching which is included! It is a wealth of information and a daily practice for about three months. I did it even after reaching my goal and it was very helpful. Best of luck on your journey, you have come to the right place! Very happy the arm pain is gone.

It's hard to be patient, but it sounds like you're absolutely doing it right.... just as the negative things didn't happen overnight, neither will the positives.. and it takes a while to show... but it will! Hang in there and be kind to yourself.

Hello VIDYARP!

emoticon Congrats on the 1kg loss! I'd say you are off to a good start. It sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. It is so good that you went to a nutritionist to help you get started with your healthy eating plan. Be proud of what you have accomplished to date. You've got this!

"ONLY" 1kg since 12th November??? That is MORE than 'only' .... it is very good. A lot of people don't see ANY weight-loss AT ALL for a few weeks.

Slow losses are the best ones. They are more likely to stay off, and it is a far healthier way for your body/mind to deal with it, too.

Weight loss after 40 AND with hypothyroidism isn't a tall order at all. It is just takes a wee bit more work. I'm glad that the pain in your arm has gone. I had that with Essential Tremors and it wasns't until I had Acupuncture to stop the tremors that the pain went.

I am 43 years old woman with a desk job. Years of mindless eating and sitting down all day long has taken its toll on me. I was diagnosed with arthritis when i was 35. Have been on meds but never made a serious attempt to overhaul my eating and fitness regime. My fat clothes kept getting tighter and i kept eating on the sly. Till about a month ago - when i had a severe pain in my arms and elbows. Thought it was to do with arthritis. Got it checked and was told it had nothing to do with arthiritis and i should get my thyroid checked. Guess what - i was hypothyroid and pre diabetic...what a light bulb moment! It scared me so much that the very same day, i went to a nutritionist and got myself a diet plan. Gave away the junk food at home and started with a clean slate. This was 12th Nov 2018. Since then everyday, i watch what i eat. I eat as per the plan and i exercise for 30 minutes everyday. I know its too soon to see any noticeable difference. It has taken years to pile on this weight; will take some time to shed. But i am hopeful. For the first time in 8 years - i am being honest to myself and accountable to myself. The weighing scale is still showing only 1 kg weight loss. But thats ok. Hopefully as the weeks go, i should see the change. I know losing weight after 40 and with hypothyroidism - is a tall order. But then weight loss is a by product of being healthy. My arm pain has gone. Completely vanished. So i must be doing something right. Hope to continue. Wish me luck!
