On this last morning of October, I'm grateful for all of this, and so much more:

-Driving home at lunch yesterday because Cleo kitty was MIA when I left; all three were piled up on the bed deep in the midst of naps emoticon emoticon
-Fall, my absolute favorite season of the year with the tree colors and temps emoticon emoticon
-My co-worker/friend is back after 6 weeks off after surgery
-My dear friend who's having her second surgery today to have more of her big toe removed (rogue riding lawnmower); even more grateful her partner is there to help her through all of this
-Reaping the benefits of the wonderful vegetable bean soup I made a few weeks back; grab from the freezer to take for lunch! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My appreciations this morning include:
-Clear expansive mountain views over reflective lake where the distant snow capped peaks appeared to be floating
-Holding my power, avoiding reflex responses to fairly angry/hostile comments (not directed to/about me)

-Still lots of garden harvest to make above resolve for more mindfulness easy

So many gratitudes!
For today:
My friend is back in town, so it was time to share a cup of coffee
The dog let me play with his toy
My husband's medical tests were all super good
It's cool and pleasant out
Even though I haven't been able to walk (hurt my foot) I have kept to my eating plan.
Life is good.

This morning, a day already filled with great joy and sorrow, I'm grateful for:

-Waking to rolling thunder and the light patter of rain on the roof ... Mother Nature
-Being able to take a bit of time to just be still, enjoy it ... and remember ...
-Calming the kitty girls, who were startled by a clap of thunder, with love, affection and a treat
-Sitting at a stoplight in silence thinking and seeing a rainbow in the distance to the left of my office building ... and then it was gone to cloud cover
-My mother telling me my oldest nephew (16) entered a national poetry contest he had to write a bio for and he mentioned me in the bio
-Plans to have dinner with a dear old friend tonight

This morning I'm grateful for:

-A stunning fall morning with crisp sunshine and a big breeze in the air
-Starting my day driving with my sunroof open listening to the birds enjoying the morning
-My communication, writing and editing skills that have served me well over the years
-Poetry, a written form I particularly enjoy, both reading and writing
-Being able to support a co-worker who, in the midst of his wife's cancer treatment, is serving as our department liaison for the American Cancer Society's "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign
-Startup time again for my fall/winter strength training/TV at home program that I trade with outdoors time during spring/summer

This morning I'm grateful for:

-Watching the leaves drift slowly downward through the sunshine as I sat petting a kitty this morning whilst waking
-Sunshine and fresh air via my sunroof as I drove to work
-Deciding to cut news listening in half; previously 15 minutes to and from work on NPR to keep current, now I'm skipping the a.m. piece (less stress, for sure)
-Enjoying birdsong instead
-B's tree starting to turn, faint hints of orange on the tips of the leaves
-An evening with no plans other than a quick Trader Joe's shop on the way home ... aaaaah

Let's make October an Outstanding Chapter and utilize writing 5 appreciation each day as our base.
