When I researched VLCD, it appeared that your calories increase little by little over the course of the program. I'm not a doctor, so of course I can't give you medical advice - but I do believe it's over a period of time.

This discussion needs to be had with your Doctor, and hopefully your Registered Dietitian. If you don't have a Dietitian, ask your Dr to refer you to one. Most Doctors don't have Dietetic qualifications.

Good luck,
Kris

This site does not advocate eating below 1200 calories.
Perhaps the doctor who is supervising you can best answer your questions.

Hello,
I’m new to the community. My name is Dana. I’ve just started the VLCD (Very low calorie diet)
I just finished the first week of my meal replacement diet with direction from my doctor.
I was just wondering, since my first week appointment isn’t until tomorrow,
How long did you stay strictly on meal replacements until you transferred to normal food again?
