Well done on recognizing that you weren't hungry, but stressed - and choosing a far healthier way of coping with that stress!

One other tool that you might find useful is to stop and write down what the particular cause of stress is (a particular customer demand, a recalcitrant machine, an overly demanding boss, etc.) and then jot down 1 to 3 bullet points on what you can actively do to either remove or reduce that cause (even if it is simply to recognize that you can't change a person, and ideas on how to not let them affect you). This gives you the beginnings of a plan, which is a great stress reliever, too!

Again - well done on making such a healthy choice! I have no doubt that your awareness will help you to continue to take the healthier option more often than not!

Sir Terry Pratchett:

"Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good."

Emotional eating is tough to conquer- nice work recognizing a trigger! There are several great articles on here about emotional eating- you may find they give you more options to help battle it!

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

Hello NantucketLife,
emoticon That you recognize your tendencies and are replacing that behavior with action that will move you closer to your goals. Here is some food for thought I think is worth sharing:
"What would you think about today, if you knew each thought would be made manifest? What would you say today, if you knew that every word you choose will send great energy into motion?

And what would you do today if you knew every action was already destined to create magic and would prove to be your future?

Hello Everyone!
I did really well today until this evening when I came into the office at work to work. This is the place where I am the most stressed. I ate way more than I was planning on. I am an emotional eater. I recognized what I did and then went for a 15 min walk. I consider that a success. I just need to work on doing that before I emotionally eat.
