Learn from that feeling in the bottom of your gut. Your limited helpings were still a little too large (or a few too many if the portion size was right). That doesn't mean skip the rare things that you enjoy, just make sure that they are rare and you pick what you want the most instead of some of things that are not that rare or that you don't really like. You're closer to where you want to be, but not quite there yet. You should definitely pat yourself on the back for your progress, but know where you need to put a little more focus on the next time.

One of the best things that I have ever gotten from these message boards is someone sharing the anecdote that you don't go out and slash your three good tires if you get a flat. Right now you are at the point where you have a flat. You can get back on track with just a patched tire or you can give up and go out and slash all three tires and take out all of the good work you have built up. It's a your choice thing here. You can make this a one off, which it's fine to have on occasion. No, seriously, if you eat at maintenance once every two to three weeks or less often, that's slowing down your progress by 1/14 or less. It's great practice for maintenance. If you do it everyday, it becomes the rule, which is what you have to watch out for.

I agree, log it and move forward. This is about a healthy lifestyle, not just another diet, so having days like this here and there can happen and as long as you don't continue to stay off plan, you will be fine. Just get back to healthy eating and habits right away to help you stay on track with your goals.

Own it, log it, and do better tomorrow!

Just went over my allotted calories, but it was SO worth it! One of our families brought in a homemade traditional Spanish feast of pork, mixed rice, mashed potato salad, and cheesecake to top it all off. I limited my helping, but can feel it in the bottom of my gut. Yummy, but so not what I should have done. I guess it is time to just get back on plan tomorrow. Right??? emoticon
