I seem to recall that you do a fair bit of exercise as in hiking, etc? IF I am right, then you may find that for a few days your calories may have been a little bit more on the low side, given that you include the 1200 in your range.

Also, sometimes a person will lose a little easier by eating a little more. Especially when they have already lost a reasonable amount. In my case I found that whereas previously I maintained at an average of 1600 calories, a few months ago found I can still maintain on an average of 1680. If anything, I have been less active.

I have been on this weight loss journey for 7 months. I think it must be a hormonal issue for me as I have adjusted somewhat to the smaller portions. I keep my calorie range from 1200-1500 a day and I have been losing a pound a month for the last 3 months.

Thanks to everyone for responding. Just recorded a .4 lb weight loss ( as in less than half a pound) in the last two weeks. This is my life now.

sometimes I have hangry days (usually a few days before my cycle starts). I let myself eat 100-250 cals over and try not to worry about it too much :) I do try to drink water first and wait it out to see if it's a craving, but if I'm just really hungry i'll make sure my macros are looking good and then have something small.

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

I recall when I was early in my weight loss journey being so hungry. I reminded myself that the hunger was my body telling me I was losing weight and my perseverance and resolve had me go eat a whole bag of aurugala.

I found it took time for my body and cravings to adjust to NOT eating the amounts of food that had me 50 pounds overweight. In time my appetite alighted with the amount of food I needed. Fueling yourself with the most nutrition rich foods in proper balance will tame overeating habits too.

I agree! If this is an ongoing challenge for you, I would look at the calorie range you have on your tracker. You may need to increase it. Have you been more active?

Consistency is key. But moderation is up there.

If you are really HUNGRY (and it's not just the munchies or a craving), then by all means eat something and be glad that you are understanding the signals that your body is sending.

Personally, I'd go for a small and nutritious meal of 200-250 calories --- maybe 100 calories or so of veggies sauteed in toasted sesame oil with a bit of meat and nuts and a flavourful sauce. Having it warm is always more satiating, and the mix of protein and volume / fibre should satisfy what your body wants. Another option would be a quick toasted half sandwich with some vegetable soup or a selection of veggies. If sweet is more what you are looking for, then a serving of Greek yogurt with some berries and nuts.

Go for the nutrition that your body is telling you it needs, enjoy, and carry on!

Oh - and I'm a believer in "eating when hungry - stopping when full" and pay far more attention to average calorie intake over a week or month than I do to just a single day. There are days I want to eat more and days I want to eat less - and it all seems to work out in average.

Sir Terry Pratchett:

"Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good."

I've eaten all my calories for the day but I'm still hungry. Any suggestions?
