Say no to anything you truly don’t want or have time to do. No explanation, just no. You are not required to explain!

My longest and rockiest relationship has been with the scale. I was heavy as a child and teen. I managed to lose the weight in my 20s, but when marriage and children came along, I topped out to my heaviest weight ... 223. Five years ago, through diet and exercise, I lost 95 lbs. For the first time, I was truly comfortable in my skin. I guess it had more to do with the fact that, unlike in my 20s, it was no longer about wanting being a size "0".

I was able to keep the weight off for about 3 years, when, no thanks to a car accident and the stress of a new job, the weight came back on with a vengeance. The hardest part of getting started has been getting started. I don't know if it's because I'm older, the stress of my new job, the demands of family and their various extracurricular activities, or all of the above, but I feel that at the end of day after I've taken care of everyone, there's nothing left for me.
