This morning I am grateful for:

-Easy Sunday mornings
-Waking to light rain and the rumble of thunder, so peaceful (thankful it's not heavy, we've had so much flooding)
-A solid night of sleep, and feeling the difference (I want to read up on biphasic sleep, out of curiosity, though the word itself gives basic understanding)
-An excellent massage late yesterday (might be why I slept so solidly)
-Catch up phone call with dear friend, making plans to try out one of her son's companies he's invested in - Floating KC - zero gravity floating, sensory reduction that's supposed to be quite relaxing

Today, after catching up on everybody's gratitude lists for the past few days, I'm grateful for all of this and so much more:

-Precious and rare family time with sister, brother-in-law, mother, stepfather, oldest nephew and stepfather's family before, during and after eclipse day
-Eclipse day (all of my scouting, planning, prep work) turned out miraculously with everybody joyful about location, timing and total experience, as well as thanking me for talking them into the drive north to center line of 70-mile wide eclipse path
-Being 8th in line when state park gates opened at 6:30 a.m. (we got up at 4 a.m. in case predicted crazy traffic happened, it did NOT until drive home with HUGE flooding)
-Getting our first pick of picnic tables next to gorgeous 100-acre lake
-Sunrise over the lake
-Long walk around the lake with my sister, cutting in and out of beautifully wooded state park paths
-Pouring rain started 20 minutes prior to first contact, then cleared quickly opening the skies for our viewing pleasure; we got 40+ minutes leading up to, 2-1/2 minutes of totality and a brief time after; it was beyond incredible - saw the diamond ring, Bailey's beads, corona ... everything I hoped for
-A peaceful day at home today with just me and the kitty girls

GBoomer: Peace and Justice, I love, Love, LOVE the names AND that you get to go see them!!

emoticonGBoomer note among the accomplished practioners of polyphasic sleep..."Buckminister Fuller experimented with polyphasic sleep, which he called Dymaxion sleep. Inspired by the sleep habits of animals such as dogs and cats, Fuller worked until he was tired, and then slept short naps. This generally resulted in Fuller sleeping 30-minute naps every 6 hours. This allowed him "twenty-two thinking hours a day", which aided his work productivity."
