It's not like I eat fast food. Ever.
It's not like I drink soda. Ever.
It's not like I'm a binge eater. Ever.
It's not like I'm really into booze.
it's not like l have chips or cookies around the house.
it's not like I eat much fried food.
It's not like I don't exercise.
It's not like I eat a lot of candy.

I find it an interesting list because there are probably VERY FEW of us who have ever dealt with more than 2 or 3 of those things...and we are still overweight! (Personally, five of those have never been an issue in my life. I've been fortunate. The three I had problems with really didn't take much effort to change!) So unless YOU are dealing with those topics...then those are NOT the reasons you are overweight! Be glad you don't have to "undo" the damage some of those habits can cause. Instead get real about YOUR Journey... and as previous posters have pointed out, find out WHY you are overweight. Until you focus on YOUR reasons instead of what others' might be dealing with, you won't make any progress! (Whining into the wind will not make you healthy....)

Try a different list:
I almost always eat enough good foods like veggies and choose whole grains.
I almost always balance my carbs/fats/and protein throughout my day.
I almost always try to stay in my healthy calorie range by tracking.
I almost always do enough exercise for my needs.

Do you use the trackers? The only real way to find out what's going on is to get an accurate picture of *how much* you eat and *how much* you exercise. The answer lies not in speculating about why, but in determining *exactly* why, then determine what exactly you need to do about it and then be determined in doing it. As you can see, I'm big on determination. As Luann stated, you can gain weight eating veggies if you eat enough veggies. If you are sedentary except for a short period of exercise now and then, you'll know from the trackers how much or little good it does. Now that you've started, stick with it and never quit. You'll be glad you did!

Simply eating healthy things is not enough, as you found out.
It is just as possible to eat too much 'healthy' as it is to eat too much 'junk'.

It's just that -- despite all those things -- I weigh a lot more than should. And... it's frustrating!!
