MARGARET3 - My birthday is June 24, 1948
Looks like we all will have a special one this year!

My allergies are really bad this year. I use Flonase nasal spray ( 1X daily) and it works well.Hope those itchy eyes are feeling better soon.

Fruit & veggies yesterday- Avocado, lettuce, raw spinach, radishes, green pepper,
cucumber, carrot sticks. With dinner cooked spinach.

Tonight I am going to a Hawaiian themed party given by my quilting guild.
Pot luck buffet, games and show & tell of our quilts. Should be fun.

OH Petula Clark? I like her but I am surprised she is on tour. WOW amazing at her age. One can only hope we have that get-up-and-go when we are 83 yrs.Have a wonderful time.

I love veggies and fruits! No problem here.

Was at doctors office for our appointment and she's referring me to my cardiologist for further testing.

Tonight my DH, DSis. DGF and I are going to a concert with Petula Clark. She's now 83 yrs old. Can you imagine at that age giving a tour?

Good morning everyone - hope you are all enjoying a great Wednesday.

My TOPS meeting - well weigh in was not nice to me this week - but I did it to myself - over the weekend I shelved my health and just ate things that aren't good for me - potato chips with lots of salt and added to that some chocolate and some Brisk lemonade -needless to say I gained weight - so I am now back up to 271.8 which is a gain of 3.8 - so I am back on track today eating healthy and remembering to take care of my health - goal is to lose the 3.8 plus a little more by next weighin.

DH has gone to get a few things from Home Hardware and the grocery store - this week for lunch I am having smoothies which will consist of 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup 2% milk, a banana or strawberries, and a Young Living Essential Oil Meal Replacement - going to have the same breakfast and same lunch for the next 7 days to see if that will help.

Am also going to work on getting on the treadmill for the next 7 days - and there is also that of strength training to get into the habit of doing

Well, tonight I go to my Study and have not completed the questions yet - so need to go and do that now and then this afternoon re listen to the sermon that goes with the lesson - DH wants to re listen to it with me.

Be for now

Good Morning '48ers,

Just a quick check-in to see how everyone is doing.

Agnes, be nice to your DH. Don't hit him with the 'Honey-Do' list as soon as he walks in the door. Give him a day or 2. Yes Margaret, I'm slowly seeing that this 'list' will never be completed...LOL!

Cool and overcast here, so enjoying that before it heats up.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi Everyone,

Fruits and vegetables are easy for me because I love almost all of them. Yesterday's lunch was a big salad with lettuces, carrots, avocado, cherry tomatoes, raspberries, pinto beans and probably more that I can't remember. Probably not a full serving of any one of those, but taken together it seemed like a lot. I also had a Clementine during the day and some watermelon. I can eat a lot of calories with fruit and veges!

DH returns on Sunday and it will be good to see him. I have a long honey-do list for him already.

I must go now. I'm going to try a different exercise class at the Y, and then meet a friend for a short walk. We're trying to do it in between the rain predicted for today.

Wishing you all a good day.

Agnes

Good morning everyone. I'm not one for fruit. So I don't eat them very often. In the vegetables I had salad and mushrooms. As you can see not much in the veg department either yesterday. I'll try better today.

Mary, glad to hear that you got caught up on your sleep. Now you just have to work on getting to bed earlier. LOL Good luck with that one.

Dwayne, you do know that the honey-do -list is never ending don't you? So what was the verdict for the car?

Kathleen , when is your birthday? We like to keep track of that so we can underline it when it 's the day. We will all be reaching the new 50 this year.

Agnes, is hubby back from his trip? I hope he had a great time.

Marilyn, How did you do at your TOPS meeting?

Edmee, How have you been feeling lately? Have you managed to stay out of the hospital?

Today, I have another early day of babysitting. I'll be leaving at 6;30 to pick her up and take GGS to day care. He reminded me yesterday that I promised to have him for a day when grandpa was at home and not working . I found I can't manage the 2 of them on my own so it's safer with hubby around.
Found out yesterday that I have allergies. Have no idea where they came from but my eyes were driving me crazy. I wanted to pull them out and wash the itchiness away. Instead I have pills and drops to take and hopefully in a few days it will leave me alone.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Kathleen: Welcome to our group! I'm from Moncton New Brunswick. I have a daughter, a son who passed away, 6 grand-children and a great-grand-son. Married, retired and enjoy many past-time. This site is a good place to either lose or maintain weight.

Mary; Sorry to hear cateracts have gotten worse. Take care

Hello. Thanks for the nice welcome to your group.
I live in North East Pennsylvania. I am married and retired. We have two married children, daughter & son, three grand children. 15 year girl and brothers 8 years and 6 years. We are having quite a wet spring here. Rain, rain and more rain.
We like to garden vegetables and I have a small flower garden.

Dwayne I am not surprised you don't like retirement. My DH retired 4 years ago and he lasted about 1 year home feeling bored. He now works part time close to home just to keep busy. And he does deep sea fishing as much as possible. I on the other hand have so many hobbies and interests I don't have time for it all.

I am dieting also. I don't eat fruit (allergic) but I do like vegetables.

Good morning all. Summer is definitely here in the south as it is hot & dry. Grass is even dieing from lack of rain.

I did get enough sleep last night. Was overly tired but made up for it by sleeping in this morning. I just can't seem to get to bed at a decent hour. DH even is still awake at midnight most nights which he has always been the early to bed one. Guess my bad sleep habits are rubbing off on him.

Today I get a haircut. Had been letting it grow out but can't stand it anymore & with the heat, it time to chop it off.

Here's a challenge for us all today & tomorrow.... eat, & post here 5 servings of healthy fruits & or veggies for the day. Let's give it our best try.

Good Morning '48ers,

Welcome Kathleen! Hope you'll post often to our little group. I'm retired, don't like it and live in South. California. Being the only guy here these ladies keep me on my toes and going.

Nothing new here, except the ol' "Honey-Do" list that will never be finished I think.

Off for some breakfast than ?...

Hi Kathleen, Hope you join our group. I'm from Maine, and have two daughters who live in other states. DH and I love it here, especially now that the winter is over. I've been semi-retired for 2 years, and still very active with some work things, music, reading, friends, exercise, gardening, and trying to eat well and keep healthy.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Mary, Hope you got a good nights sleep. Glad to hear that your appointment went fairly well.

Kathleen, emoticon I'm from Laval Quebec Canada Just north of Montreal. I have 1 son and 1 daughter 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. I also keep myself busy with watching my youngest GGD.

Agnes, It sounds like you were a busy beaver yesterday as well. Your garden must be looking beautiful by now.

Marilyn, good luck with your weigh in at TOPS today.

Dwayne, what was the verdict at the garage? I hope it wasn't to expensive.

Yesterday I gave my DD the morning to help her do the garden. She is down to having one arm at the moment and needed help. I cut her grass , mixed dirt ,peat moss, and sheep manure together for her then filled up her planters and garden bins. Then we planted potatoes, onions, celery, watermelon and herbs. I can say I came home exhausted. Took a shower and was completely finished for the rest of the day. LOL
Today I have the little one so it will be much more quieter. Hubby has a lawn mower to fix and then he wants to do more on his motorcycle. He finally got the electrical problem fixed on it. So he is one happy camper.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hello KATHLEEN624! emoticon & nice to see you drop in. We're a small group here but love to have others join in.

I'm from Louisiana & usually a busy bee as well. Retired but busier than ever. Married, 3 daughters, 7 plus grands & 3 great grands.

48er's sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Long days & short nights. Went for my eye dr appt today. She said the Macular degeneration is stable & no worse but cataracts have definitely progressed. When I go back in November we will set a date to do surgery.

As usual it's late & time for some shut eye. Hoping to catch up reading posts soon. Hope all get a good night's rest.

Morning everyone - are you enjoying this great Monday we have been given - make some good memories

Sort of blew the last 2 days with eating - ate things I knew I should have and drank enough Brisk lemonade that I should not need any more for a long long time. And according to the scale this morning - well was not happy with myself. So all I can do now is pray that I MIGHT stay the same weight as last week - but at any rate things are going to change - I want to be down 10 pounds before July 31 (this would give me a total of 30 pounds lost) so am now refocused to get these 10 pounds off NOW rather than later.

Saturday we went plant shopping for two planters plus a large pot. Have one more plant to buy for one other pot and I also some nice arrangements that would be nice on my deck - so hopefully maybe at the end of the month. At any rate in the two planters we were able to put in 7 tiger lilies - 3 of them were / are in bloom and look so nice and the rest are about to bloom - I am hoping that doing them in the planter will be ok and am going to take a change that they will regrow next year. I know the ones we have planted in the ground have come up every year but with being in a planter am not sure how that works with winter. Keeping fingers crossed - DH could not resist buying them as they are so pretty to look at - two of the larger ones are a pretty orange and the 3rd one which we put in the middle of the planter is a nice red. The others are, white, yellow, and orange

Am hoping that DH will get the BBQ tank set up today as I would love to start using the BBQ

Well it is approaching lunch so should sign off - have been on here now for 45 minutes and think it is time to take a break and finish up the laundry, eat my lunch, and work on some baby blankets

Hi Everyone,
It's good day. Went for a stroll with a friend, then food shopping, then shopping for garden things (not plants, but mulch etc.). Next, I'll go to the Y for some exercise. The sky is a gorgeous blue and the temperature is excellent.

Margaret, I can tell you that I wasn't laughing the first time the deer nibbled on the pansies, but now I'm trying to take it in stride.

Best,
Agnes

Good Morning '48ers,

Checking in to read new posts. Guess Margaret's was the only one. Got to take the van to the shop; seems to be burning a lot of gas the past 2 days and want to see what it might be. Praying it's nothing major OR expensive.

Hope all of you are doing well, families are all good and you're working out and eating right. We can all do this.

Good morning everyone.

Well yesterday turned out to be a not so bad day.I vaccumed then washed all the floors while doing the laundry as well. When I sat down to take a five minute break it was 3 pm . Checked my Fitbit to see my exercise minutes and it hadn't registered anything. Oh well I guess I wasn't going fast enough for it. Today I'm going to help out DD in her garden. She still has trouble with her left arm and can't do much with it. Hubby has finally got his motorcycle running. But then I don't know for how long.

Agnes, I laughed when you said the deer were enjoying your pansies. I guess it's good food for them after all the shrubs and grass.

Dwayne, hope your getting your sleep and exercise in.

Edmee, good job on dropping those excess pounds. Take care not to over do it.

Mary, hope all is well with you.

Marilyn, hope your still getting in your exercise in.

Hope you all have a great day

Good Morning All,

Rainy, cloudy day here, which is good because I have a lot of indoor boring things to do.

Margaret, my deer love the pansies. I've been spraying them with deer stopper which is supposed to repel deer for 4 weeks. It lasts about 8 days for me. They just love those flowers. Even so, I am enjoying the flowers, and have always enjoyed seeing the deer, so we are all coping as best as possible. I ended up getting Lamium maculatum for the area near my kitchen. This area is very shady, and the Lamium seem to tolerate shade and are "bullet proof" in all other ways. My kind of plant. So far so good. I see deer hoof prints in the dirt, but they haven't eaten those plants yet.

Edmee, do take care of yourself. Everything else can and should wait until you are well.

All, Hope you have an excellent day. I am off to do a lot of laundry.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Mary, hope your sleep was better. Did you manage to have a quiet day yesterday?

Dwayne, sounds like you might have found a way to finally get your sleep in. Hope this will help you get back to your old self.

Bernie, emoticon on going down a size. You must be so proud of yourself. I hope the med school keep working and you can be fit for the wedding. What part time job did you take on?

Agnes, we had a lovely day yesterday. Then the rain started and we had that all night with high winds. It's supposed to clear up this morning and be beautiful again. Hope you have the same. You never said what flowers you got for just outside your kitchen. I was wondering how your pansies were doing.

Edmee, hope you get well soon. Take it easy and stay quiet. I know it's hard but that's what needs to be done.

Marilyn, missed your post yesterday. I like your little comments you post.

Today I'm going to make up for yesterday. I'm going to clean my house and wash the floors before the little one comes back and makes them dirty again.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

The day before yesterday, I was admitted and couldn't weigh -in but will tomorrow morning. I again suffered from angina today but trying hard to not be readmitted after just getting home. I miss going to gym but couldn't right now if wanted to as I seem to get in pain at the least bit of activity. DH is just wonderful with me and keeping the fort afloat.

Great job all of you on weight lost

Read your posts; seems that at one time to another we all have sleep or should I say lack of sleep problems. At the Healthy Heart we had a session last week on ways to help fall asleep. I tried it and nearly fell asleep in class -lol There are videos on YouTube. I now fall asleep but wake up and redo tape and fall back to sleep which is good. I hope I will soon fall in the groove and it will become an habit. It will help my heart and even to lose weight!

Have a great weekend

I've been struggling with a new staph infection in my left leg this time. This is the 5th day on antibiotics and it is doing better. Just frustrating for this to happen.

Weigh in emoticon 1.5 @ 172.5 emoticon I'm a lot happy! Was able to fit into some of my smaller clothes and even treated myself to a size 12 pair of slacks which is my next size down. Haven't been in that size in years!!!

Sounds like the sleeping thing is a problem for most of us. With me it comes and goes and it does help me to use a sleep aid on occasion.

Got the truck repaired and the computer is almost back up to speed. Seems there is too little time now that I have taken on a little part time job besides watching grandkids. I'm always thinking of you and do read your posts. Blessing to all.

Good Morning '48ers,

Well, I got a full 8 hours sleep last night. I did take a sleep aid pill when I went to bed but I won't be doing that tonight so we'll see how it goes. I know it won't be the same results. For some reason these over the counter pills just work for me which is a surprise.

Mary, sounds like you only got about 5 hours sleep and that's not good. You've got to start getting to bed earlier. Don't make me come back there! LOL!

Agnes, when I wake up so many times during the night I think about it the next day and usually see I've only gotten way less than the actual time I went to bed and got up in the morning. Sometimes it may take me 20 - 30 minutes to doze back to sleep so I can't count that as sleep. For me it's getting the brain to shut down and stop thinking about whatever and relax. I know, easy to say, so difficult to do.

Hope all of you are having a great start to the weekend and doing the right things for yourselves.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi All,

Since we're chatting about sleep, I'm reporting in that I did better last night. I think I got ~6.5 hours of sleep. It's hard to tell since I wake up so often, but I do feel better this morning than I did yesterday.

We're due for rain tonight and tomorrow so I'm going to be outside as much as possible today. The sun is out and it's glorious.

On the eating front, I'm focusing on fruits and veges and fish. Not difficult for me as I love them all. DH loves the red meat and potatoes so it's not so easy to pick meals that we both love when he is home. However, I miss him and look forward to his return.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Mary, I've been up since 4 this morning and watching the royal wedding. That wouldn't have been so bad if I went to bed at a decent time. But leave it to me to go to bed at 11 last night. So I think I'll be snoozing this afternoon.

Looks like the weigh in was a good one for everyone so far.

Dwayne, glad you got a good night's sleep.

Agnes, hope you had a nice walk with your friend.

Marilyn, enjoy the nice weather while you can.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs

Afternoon everyone - are you having a great Friday - hope so - I am.

Weight loss for this week is 0.8 of a pound which is good and I look forward to some more on Tuesday

Long weekend for us in Canada this weekend which is nice.

Just listening to the news about the school shooting in Texas - how sad that this keeps happening - something has to be done about so many people having guns - people that have no right to have one - seems like all they do is talk about making changes but rather than making it stricter about getting a gun, shootings keep happening. What is this world coming to!!

Well it is lunch time so need to think through my lunch - signing off for now

Good Morning '48ers,

Quick check-in with my weight. Today was 254.62#'s for the week so I LOST over 1# and I'll take that.

Sounds like we have started a 5 hour sleep club. I took an over the counter sleep aid pill last night and outside of getting up for the bathroom (something I'd never done in my earlier days...LOL) I got in an 8 hours. I'm going to try it again tonight and I'll let all know how I did. I'm just not going to take them every night for fear they'll stop working. Crossing fingers...

Well DW has some places we 'have' to go to today so I'll get some exercise in before and then with her.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning 48er's! emoticon @ 184.4 this a.m. but not sure if it's correct or not as the numbers have varied so much this week so I plan to buy a new battery before next Friday.

Sorry to hear all are having difficulty getting enough sleep. I get enough most nights but most nights I am awake till 2 a.m. or later. The only reason I get more sleep is because I also have the luxury of sleeping in unless we have an early appointment or something. Guess it comes with our age. lol

OK, it's not much but got to go. Will check in later.

Good Morning Everyone,

Yup, the 5 hour club is an active one. Almost 5 hours of sleep for me last night. Our sun starts coming up at 4 am, and when it starts getting lighter outside my body wakes up. Soon I'll need to go to bed at 8 pm to get some sleep. Anyway, already thinking about taking a nap this afternoon. I don't like starting the day being tired.

Today is sunny and cool. A nice combination. I'm going to the Y for an easy exercise class and meeting a friend for a walk. Then a few errands (there's always something to do) and home.

Margaret, the alone time is ok with me, but there always seems to be a "to do" list. I miss DH when he's away, but know that he is enjoying time with his buddies. As for me, I tend to do more things with friends and catch up on reading and music and some work. Really not much different than when DH is at home.

Weigh in for me is 147.5, a little down from the last time.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Edmee, sure hope you can get in that concert before you have to go to the hospital. Try taking it slowly see if that helps. My little one just turned one year old. She is wanting to walk everywhere. She stumbles but can get herself back up without any help. She's a strong little girl.

Agnes, you have some alone time. Wow what are you going to do with all that time on your hands? LOL

Marilyn, I hope the forecast they have said for you is wrong. That would be terrible for you again.

Dwayne, welcome to the 5 hour sleep club. The worse thing about that is your body gets use to it. I hope you can break the habit before it gets to use to it.

Mary, hope you got another good night's sleep. Hopefully the day won't be to bad for you. Hugs.

Well today I'm out of here. I phoned my friend up last night and made plans for the day. We'll bring DGGD with us to do a bit of shopping and then we will spend the rest of the day home again. Next week I have 2 days off. as Mom is off one and Dad is off the other so that will give me a break. Hubby will work a bit on his motorcycle and then take the rest of the day off seeing he has been very busy with lawn mower repairs.

Oh I almost forgot today is weigh in Friday. I'm down a pound to 229. Very happy with that.

Hope you all have a great weigh in and a beautiful day.

Hugs Margaret

Afternoon everyone - hope you are all having a great Thursday.

It is hot where I am which is nice - but we are now told to be prepared for this summer to be worse then last year - and last year all summer we needed to stay inside due to poor air quality due to all the forest fires. And the flooding was also the worse in many years and we are dealing with flooding all around us already. Two towns near us are now having a major river run down their main street. Our friends from church live 15 minutes out of the city and are putting up sandbags and are now having to bring in truck loads of rock to help with the creek that is flooding their property. And then there is the volcanoes that are erupting - Hawaii is in trouble and Washington State has two that are rumbling and they expect to erupt soon. Wondering about all these climate changes - not looking to good is it. Guess we need to do some major praying and making sure we are prepared for these changes

Am doing well with food thankfully and look forward to having another good weigh in next Tuesday. This is a long weekend for us here in Canada so will have to take a bit more care as it seems when people have extra time off and the beginning of BBQ season - well we tend to eat what we shouldn't but I am determined to manage my health by getting the weight under control

Well must run, seems I want wanted outside in all the heat!!! Have a good on everyone

Margaret3: how old is the little one? Missing my little guy. He started to walk last week.

Well I'm suffering from engina lately so my exercise routine is much less and slower just to keep me moving some. May have to go to emergency yet but wish it was after a concert we have tickets to go to on May 23rd.

Good Morning '48ers,

Another night of miserable sleep. Up at 3:15 than tried going back to sleep after 5 AM and got another hour before the pups wanted me up! So I got 5 hours. Get to finish the shopping today so getting lots of exercise with that.

Mary, so sorry for your loss. Sometimes I wonder why people like you are dealt this in life, but I know with your faith and belief you'll come through on the sunny side. Such great news about Carlin. Prayers for you, yours and all the '48ers will continue.

Well, off for a little breakfast, a little 'Honey-Do' than off shopping...

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Just stopping by for a quick hello. My DH is going on a trip with guy friends and there are a number of things to do before he drives off.

Mary, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's been a difficult, trying time for you for several months. Keep getting that sleep.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Mary, so glad to hear that your appointment went well. Also so happy to hear that Carlin is finally getting a break. I'll still keep him in my prayers daily. Sorry to hear of another family member passing. My prayers for you and your family.

Marilyn, so glad to hear that your DD is feeling better. She will be much better after all is finished.

Agnes, your weather is the same as mine. Even on the beautiful days the wind can keep me in with the baby. All she wants to do right now is walk. The wind would push her over for sure. LOL

Dwayne, hope you got in your workout with all the shopping you did yesterday. My exercise right now is running after the baby all day.

Bernie, have you found a dress for the wedding yet?

Today I'm going to try to take my little one out to do a few errands. That is a sport in itself. I'll see what mood she's in before I do though.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Dr visit went well yesterday. Cholesterol & triglycerides are all within normal limits. Even my kidney functions are back down to almost normal since I stopped one of my meds. Guess that was the culprit. My Vitamin D level is in the very lower end of normal, but at least it's there. lol

After the dr vs DH & I took a drive to see DS-i-l almost 2 hrs away, then went grocery shopping. Picked up lots of fresh veggies & came home to make a big salad for supper.

Today we went to volunteer at the Clothes Closet Ministry in my home town. As soon as I got there I was informed of an early morning accident that took the life of a family member. This makes 4 close cousins that have died in this family in less than 2 months. Breaks my heart for my family members.

Carlin had his bone marrow biopsy yesterday & they found NO cancer cells in his spinal fluid or bone marrow, praise God! Today he had the T-cell transplant. The team of doctors are very optimistic & said if this works, he may not ever have to take chemo again. Oh how I pray that will be the case. Of course he is still looking at 5 more weeks of treatments in PA so we'll have to wait & see. He's been so sick the last several days. I did get to talk to him a bit & talked to his mom for almost an hour. Hoping to talk to her tomorrow again to check on him.

Well it's late & I have to get up early tomorrow for a VBS meeting then funeral home on Friday.

Afternoon - praying that you are all having a great Wednesday.

I am enjoying another day of hot weather though I am staying inside due to the heat. The fires have started - two of them are within 50 miles of us and we are told that both have been started by men. Also the flooding is not good - families are being evacuated from their homes in 2 towns that are within 75 miles of us. And the 2 major rivers that flow through our city are extremely high and they are now starting to sandbag - so guess we are in for another stranger summer. Have to remember to pray for those in Hawaii as that is not good. Mt. Rainer and Mt. Helen both in Washington State are showing signs that they are about to erupt also - My Rainer has been so long ago that I don't remember it going by Mt Helen has not been all that long - I remember living in Vancouver BC and having my car covered from ash from it and it was way down in Washington State.

So saying all that I think we should think about things more thoughtfully as the times are changing and we are seeing more earthquakes (another was just recorded off the West Coast), volcanoes are not erupting that haven't in about 100 years or so, flooding is tremendous all over and then there is all the fires - if you are a believer you will see that all these are spoken of with respect to the coming of the end of times. I am not saying that that is happening now but we are going in that direction and we need to be prepared for where we are going to spend eternity - I know I am ready and now where I will be and am praying that all of you have that certainty also.

Am doing well with the food issues so far this week. Yesterday I was able to record another loss - 0.8 of a pound = so this gives me 5.2 pounds lost for the month so far and 2 more weigh ins to go so am working on getting as close to that 10 pound loss as possible.

Daughter is feeling much better now that she has the abscessed tooth taken out - but she is not happy with me as I have not let her eat any solid food yet - lots of smoothies with a protein meal replacement in it (she loves them) but I know she is wanting to get solid food but that will come by the end of the week when I feel her tooth has healed more.

So - am going to sign off now - now that I am praying for all of you - make some good memories that you can reflect on this time next year

Good Afternoon '48ers,

Glad to hear all went well with Dr. and your appointments. Prayers continue for you.
That must be great seeing wild turkeys walking around your yard. Our dogs would love to have some feathery friends to chase. I think once the little ones got chased it would come to a halt really quick...LOL!

Margaret, I know what you mean about the 3 AM wake-ups! Mine has been 3:15 - 3:45 AM. Got lucky and last night I did fall back asleep but that was almost an hour later. Than up about an hour after that than dozed off and finally pups decided I needed to get up and chaperone them, or be company. Every day it happens when DD-i-L leaves for work. Kind of funny looking back at it.

MOMTOLJ, sounds like you're doing O.K. and praying it continues for you. Also glad to hear you're getting answers to your medical questions.

Wow Mary, I think that 10 hours of sleep for you must be a record! If I get that much sleep, which I haven't in I can't remember how long, I feel groggy. Glad to hear you've gotten some rest. Also wonderful to hear your DH is doing better after his slip.

Going shopping with DW so that will take us about 4+ hours. Seems we have to hit 4 stores, minimum, to get everything so we do. Anyway, it's all some exercise so that's the good thing.

Praying all of you continue to do well and enjoy your day...

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi All,

Happy to report that all went well with the doctor and PT appointments yesterday. I did get in a little walk, but it started to rain so it was shorter than I would have liked. I can deal with the rain, but the wind was awful so I back down.

This morning the wild turkeys are strutting around our property. They seem to think there is something interesting here to poke around at.

Hope you all have a good day. Sleep is not great for me either. I seem to be on the 5 hour sleep a night schedule. Not enough!

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

I missed checking in yesterday. Sorry about that. The day got away from me. I didn't see the time go by. Today will be another one of those days. But today they are announcing nice weather so that will be good. We watch the little one everyday now at least until August.

Mary, so glad your catching up on all the sleep you've been missing. Glad to hear that hubby is on the mend finally. How did your appointment go yesterday?

Edmee, glad to hear that your back on the right path and dropped those extra pounds. Keep up the good work.

Agnes, I'm so with you on the weather. It's nice to see the sun shining again. Hope everything went well at the appointment.

Dwayne, I don't know what it is but I've been waking up at 3am each night. If I'm lucky I get 4to5 hours a night. But every now and then I managed to get in 6 to 7 hours.

Marilyn, hope everything went well for your DD yesterday.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Good Morning '48ers,

Just a quick note to say 'Hey' and pray all of you are doing well. Had a 4 hour sleep night, again, and getting rather tired of it. 2 nights in a row certainly dampens the enthusiasm.

Hope all of you have great days and all is well...

Mary: finally taking care of you LOL Sleeping in should be a luxury for you! Good luck with your appointment to the cardiologist today.

Marilyn: I know your DD's appointment will go well but know as a parent it's just as hard on you that it is for her. Prayers and hugs!

Agnes; Good luck at the doctors today

Today doing my housework so that I won't have much to do tomorrow. I'll be going to Ergo therapy for the last tests to determine how much my strokes affected my brains. I know of one part so far.... It explains a lot when you know what happens and my therapist is good at explain in terms we can all understand

I have a baby quilt to finish by the end of the month. It's an applique one with animals and balloons designed by me so it will be unique.

Good Morning All,

Nice day here today, although we are supposed to get rain this afternoon. Still, it is so nice not to have snow and ice on the ground! It was a long winter.

Today is a day of doctor and PT appointments for me, and I'll try to fit in a walk in between. I could come home but there is construction on the road and it is a slow and irritating trip as it's now a dirt and bumpy road.

Hope you all have a good one.

Best,
Agnes

Morning - hoping you are all having a great Monday.

The sun is shining where I am - it is only 68 F right now but this afternoon it is getting up to 90 F so it will be a hot day.

Have had a few issues with our remote control for the TV - got a new replacement this morning which is great. And this afternoon, after dentist visit, DH is going to go up and get a replacement for the sound bar as that decided not to work.

The dentist - we take DD out to dentist right after lunch and the abscess will be pulled. Am going to be feeling much better about all of this in a week or so after the pulled tooth 'hole' has healed - then it will be time to take her to the hospital for dental surgery on her back teeth - she needs to be put to sleep for that work as dentist knows that due to her having seizures she would not be able to sit in the chair for the work to be done. So when all of that is complete I will feel much better - and know that she is working well with me cleaning her teeth am praying that the teeth problems will slow down -

Also needing DH to take the baby blankets I have made to the Pregnancy Care Clinic as I have a bin full now - think there is about 10 of them ready to get to the Clinic = and DH took me up to 'Michaels' so that I could purchase more yarn for the next batch - think I have enough yarn now for another 5 - 10 blankets - and am praying that the ladies from TOPS will bring in left over yarn that I can use for blankets - the less money involved the better but I don't mind spending some as there are so many young mothers that don't have a thing for their new babies.

Talking about yarn - I have the pretties red yarn - verigated (spelling) - goes red, pink, white = am planning on making up a shawl with it for myself so one of these days I will have to start it as it would be nice to have for cool spring or fall nights.

Have read all the messages here - sorry I don't necessarily respond to them but I do read them and pray for each of you

Am signing off now - have a great Monday making lots of great memories - and come back when you can to share with us what is happening in your part of the world.

WOW, did I sleep! DH & I both had more than 10 hrs. He's always been an early riser but with the Dementia, he's sleeping later in the mornings as well as frequent naps during the day except yesterday, we kept him going. lol His knee is finally starting to heal. The fall injury will be 2 weeks old tomorrow.

The house is quiet today with DGS away for the cruise this week. I have a cardiology appt tomorrow. Today catch up on washing.

Nice to see everyone check in this morning. Just missed seeing Marilyn's post I believe. So I'm out of here.

Hope you all enjoy this day we have been given. Yesterday is past, tomorrow is future but today is a present. Unwrap it & enjoy!

Good morning! Beautiful day yesterday. DD and grand-kids called /msg ,e for Mother's day and DH and I went for a walk.

I'm back with my plan for three days now and have lost the gained pounds. Happy about that. I'm also reading documentation received at healthy heart. It's a large enough book and very informative. I love the workbook too

Have a supper day. Red all your posts and happy to see you back Dwayne and Bernie

Good Morning '48ers,

Just a quick check-in to read up on the posts. DW had a quiet day, which she wanted and she 'DOES NOT LIKE' this day. I don't know why, but her and her Mom never enjoyed the day. My late DM-i-L didn't like it at all. Anyway I did buy dinner for DW so she didn't have to cook and that put a smile on her face...LOL!

Hoping all of you had a great weekend and now we get back to it?

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning everyone.

Dwayne, thank you for the goodie. Hope you did a good job pampering your DW.

Mary, sounds like you had a lovely day with your family. Plus a work out I bet you were tired and slept well. How is DH leg coming along has the redness gone?

Agnes, It's always good to be back home after a trip. The important thing is that you had some free time to spend with your girl. That is priceless.

Bernie, doing great girl. Hope you had a great day of being pampered as well.

Edmee, hope your day was filled with being pampering as well.

Marilyn, it's so nice when hubby gets to cook for you. It that little bit of pampering that makes the day.

I had a lovely day. we went to encourage our GGS at his first garage sale. LOL he tried to sell me his old bicycle so that when he comes to our house he has something to ride on. LOL He did very well though. He made over 70$ He's going to buy a new helmet for his bike and summer clothes. We had a BBQ there for lunch with DD and DGD and DGS and there others. We had a nice time then came home and ordered some dirt for our garden and then hubby filled them up when it was delivered. All in all a great day with beautiful weather.

Today I have the little one so we will be staying close to home.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Dear SP Friends,

Returned yesterday from a week in D.C., some for work and some to be with one of my daughters and also visit with former neighbors and friends. It was a good week away, but I did miss home. Now back to reality. The scale was at 149 this morning which is up for me, but I certainly know why. So many meals out and everything different from my normal routine. No amount of walking eliminates the need to limit food.

Loved being with this daughter the morning of Mother's Day as it's been many years since we've been together on that day.

Dwayne, it was lovely to get the goodie. Thank you so much for thinking of me.

All, back to reality for me now. I take my car into the dealer today as there is a call to replace the air bag. They finally got one in stock for me and it needs to be done.

Hope you all have a good day.

Agnes

Hope all had a wonderful day. I sure did. Spent the day with DD#2 & DGDs. DSon-I-L BBQ'd & we sat outside enjoying the beautiful day visiting & laughing. Even walked over from there to visit DGS#1 & his family for coffee then walked back. When we got home we sat out in the swing under the trees until we decided that some of the branches needed to be trimmed so we went to work & cut branches & hauled them to the road for trash pick up later. Good work out. Was exhausted when we were done but at least we both got some of that lunch worked off! emoticon

DD#1 & her 2 graduates along with other family, took off this morning for New Orleans to board a cruise ship for 7 days in the western Caribbean. So deserving of a fun vacation.

Dwayne, thank you for the sweet Goodie & Mother's Day wishes. Hope your DW had a good one too.

Marilyn, glad to hear your DD is feeling better. Sweet of your DH to cook for you! Hope your Tuesday weigh-in is another good one!
Margaret, sounds like your day was a good one too. emoticon
Bernie, emoticon It's coming on down!

Edmee & Agnes, Hope you had a great day too!

Good morning everyone.

Shopping went very well. We even got in free delivery . Which was very good seeing we had plywood and giprock sheets. We ended up saving a grand total of 70 $ very happy. Then our DS invited us for diner for Mother's Day so off we went. Now today I have to get back to basics as that is 2 meals I've had out and that's plenty.

Hope all you Mothers out there have a great Mother's Day and I hope you get pampered. I received a beautiful flower from my DD as well. So I've already been spoiled .

Dwayne, glad to hear that it didn't cost to much in the garage. That's always a big expense.

Edmee, You keep moving and that weight you gained will be off in no time.

Marilyn, I think the weather everywhere has gone crazy. One day we are in the 20's the next we are back down to 5 I just wish mother nature would make up her mind.

Agnes, hope you have a safe trip home.

Mary, take the time to be pampered today.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Feeling good today. Sun is shining and temps hit a high of 83 F today which is nice but now they are telling us that we should be ready for another summer like last year with a lot of flooding and forest fires. Flooding is already happening = town 1 hour away has water flowing down the main street, and friends that live 20 minutes out of town are sandbagging with a lot of help from neighbors and church friends in order to save their house. Hopefully this will end soon and we can have a normal summer but when I reflect on things like Hawaii now having a horrible volcano well things are changing everywhere

Daughter is doing well with handling her sore mouth - a couple of more days and she gets the tooth that is abscessed pulled out and then in 3 weeks goes to the hospital (finally after 18 months waiting) to get some work done on back teeth - think one of those might need to be pulled as it is not looking good and she is quite sensitive - poor sweet girl she is finally being very cooperative in letting me do her teeth so that is a blessing.

Hubby is blessing with cooking tonight - he really enjoys doing this now that he is retired as long as I let him no what foods to avoid for my health issues. We are having chicken breast = skinless = stir fried I believe in onion, red pepper and lots of spices served over vegetables for me and for him and daughter mashed potatoes - letting daughter still have some potatoes but not as much as I am working on getting her onto a low carb high protein food plan as she has about 50 pounds to loss possibly a little more - so hubby is saying he is not sure about the food for the house anymore with 2 of us putting in the restrictions but he is willing to go along with it as long as he can still have his carbs.

I had a good loss this week and am looking forward to getting weighed on Tuesday as my goal is to be down another 1.5 to 2 pounds again. So am really watching it this weekend making sure I get in enough protein and very little of the high end carbs.

Praying for all of you and always look forward to reading all your messages.

Good Morning '48ers,

Marilyn, you are doing so great on your weight loss. Keep it up and hoping all of you get the same results.

Mary, sounds like you're still going a hundred miles an hour, with all this running around. Hope you get a break the next week. Prayers coming for Carlin that he does well with the upcoming work. You do sound like the proud MawMaw as you should and so many Kudos to your DD for raising such fine young men. How's your DH doing? Does he still lead your Church group? Know that I say prayers for him every day, especially since he's got to keep you in line...LOL!

Margaret, glad to hear you got out of the house. There's a big beautiful world out there, now to see some of it myself. Why is it we can give such great advice to others yet fail to take it for our own improvement? How did your Dr.'s appt. go?
Oldest son did enjoy his birthday, a fairly quiet gathering. Guess he's old enough the party doesn't matter, just give me the gifts...LOL! I think I 'smell the coffee' too much and need to kick it up about 5 nothches! That's not being 'hard' on myself, I'm procrastinating too much and dealing with some personal fears I've been avoiding for some time and now I can't push them back any more. Not to worry, just issues...

Agnes, sounds like you had a good trip to DC and your visit.

MOMTOLJ, emoticon Hope you had a great day. I'd join you on that going back to 50, yet I wonder why? Would I make the same mistakes? Could I improve things for others? Just surprised at times when I look in the mirror and think "When did I get the gray highlights?"...LOL! I would give you the same advice you gave to me...take a breather. You've got 10 X's the schedule I've got. My difficulties come from my procrastinating, not knowing what to do when I'm cleaning the house, after 30+ years of working outside it with DW doing all this.
So hope your schedule allows you to focus a little more on yourself and getting to your goals. Keep those in mind...all of you...

Had to take our van to the shop. Was running really rough and thought it was going to be a major repair. By the grace of prayer it wasn't too bad. Now to move forward. Got a couple small 'Honey-Do' items to take care of than DW and I need to go and get 1 more gift for DS's birthday that we couldn't get to while van was in the shop.

Know my prayers are with you and your families every day. With a bit of work I'll be back tomorrow.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning everyone. Oh what a day it was yesterday. As you know I took care of the little one and thats a sport in itself. Did a bit of cleaning while she slept . After we took her home DH took me out for an early Mothers Day dinner. That way we beat the rush and the prices haven't been put up for the day. I refuse to go to the resturant on special occasions for that reason.
Today we have grocery shopping to do along with getting things from the hardware store for different projects. There is a special today that the store pays all the taxes on anything. So we would be saving 15.5% so I'm a happy camper.

Mary, I sure hope you have an easy week next week. I'm sure you need a break. We need sometimes for ourselves.

Marilyn, so glad to hear that your DD will be taken care of soon. She will feel so much better.

Edmee, anew day and a new start. I'm with you on that.

Agnes, glad to hear from you. You had me worried about you. I thought you went for a walk and kept going. LOL

Dwayne, stop and smell the coffee. Take a little time for yourself. You need to get in some gym time to.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

What a week! 2 graduations today. Grandson's college graduation at 10 this morning & his younger brother from High School tonight. So proud of my oldest DD for doing such a great job raising those boys, mostly by herself. She supported them by working 2 & sometimes 3 jobs to put them through school, provide a home for them & still attended their soccer games, bringing them to church & teaching them how to follow Christ while their father never did anything to help, leaving them to fend for themselves.

Sorry, didn't mean to say all that when I started. I guess you can tell I'm not only a proud Mom, but also proud MawMaw. Love my family. I am so blessed.

emoticon 186.8 this morning. I know some of it is fluid but the rest is over indulgence & eating out & on the run. Hope to have a much quieter week next week. I should be able to get back tomorrow & read posts. Right now it's past midnight so emoticon

Morning everyone - hope you are enjoying a wonderful Friday

Weighin for today: Last week 273.2 this week 268.6 for a loss of 4.4 pounds.

Things are improving and am so glad they are. DD saw our primary care dentist on Tuesday re the abscess. She goes back to him on Monday to have the tooth pulled. She has been on the waiting list since last November to go to the hospital to have dental work done - 2 teeth at the back need attending to and we were told it could be 1 year before she gets in. In November we had been waiting for 10 months already. I know there is a long line of patients needing to get in for dental work but unfortunately the 2 dental surgeons do not get enough hospital time which is so frustrating. At any rate on Monday of this week I went to the surgeons office and shared my concerns telling them I know that I am sure others have the same concerns but as patients I don't know how or what we can do when the hospital does not give enough operating time. At any rate this morning I got an email from the surgeons office saying they have moved dd to top of list as a priority and they now have a date of June 8 to get her in - I am so thankful but must say I am feeling sorry for the person that has been bumped but i do believe this happens a lot due to circumstances that cant be helped.

At any rate she is doing much better in allowing me to clean her teeth with the new electric brush and with flossing and have changed up her food so am praying that after she has a good cleaning with our primary dentist on June 6 that her teeth will show much improvement at each cleaning. This also should help with her weight loss.

Have to sign off - dh has just handed me some protein to eat for lunch and then we are off to get the remote looked at for our one tv -

By for now

Good Morning All,

I'm in DC this week. The first part of the week was work and now I am visiting with my daughter. She has a tiny apartment, but it is lovely and only a 15 minute walk to the nearest subway/metro. Yesterday, since she was at work, I went to visit friends, as I lived here for many years. It was great to catch up with them. I've been doing a lot of walking, I can't post my weight as my daughter has no scale (!!!!). I'll be back home on Sunday, and will post next week. I've been trying to be reasonable about eating, but as we all know it's not easy when you're traveling.

I'll be dog sitting today. My daughter does volunteer work with an animal rescue society and she'll be taking care of a dog for a few days while the woman who is fostering the dog is away. Should be interesting.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone. It's weigh in Friday. I'm up a pound but I'm not surprised. I figured it would be more as my legs are still very swollen.

Edmee, Hope you had a great buffet and now it's back to the grind stone. LOL

Dwayne, what's happening at your end of the world? Did you youngest son enjoy his birthday?

Mary, I guess you were to tired to post last night after the funeral. I hope you got a good night's sleep.

Marilyn, How is your DD holding out? I hope all is well.

Agnes, Bernie, and all the others we sure do miss you. Hope all is well.

Today we have the little one again, and next week it will be everyday as well. I hope I'm up to it. But I plan to get her out in the fresh air and do some walking with her.

Hope you all have a great weigh in.

Hugs margaret

Mary and Margaret; thank you for remembering! I did it! I am now 70 years old. My grand-mothers were gone by age 40 and 54 and Mom at 67. I am so blessed to be able to celebrate my 70's.

Tonight we have our banquet. And from there on I will go back to my healthy eating and gym again regularly. Last night I went for an hour long walk as the weather was so nice!

Well, my load of laundry is dry Got to go

Good morning everyone.

Edmee, emoticon emoticon job on reaching the New 50. Hope you have a great day with family and friends. Enjoy the day. Your only the New 50 once in your lifetime. emoticon

Mary, will you take hubby to be seen by the doctor again today? Hope you can have a easy day of it. Sorry to hear that things are not going so good for Carlin. He's always in my prayers. .

Marilyn, I say like Edmee it would be so much easier for her if they would do everything at once in the hospital. I hope she feels better soon.

Today it's my day. The baby doesn't come as mom works later on during the day so dad will be home to take care of the kiddies. I'm meeting up with a friend for breakfast and do a little shopping. Then this afternoon I have an appointment with the osteopathic to see if she can try to get my legs feeling better. I know it is going to hurt but then afterwards it usually feels better.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Good evening! Yes, today was a long & difficult day. This cousin was just 71 & had been battling CA for about a year. His youngest brother died just 5 weeks ago with a nephew that died 3 weeks ago so this family has been going through allot of grief. Today I find out that the oldest sister's son has kidney ca & having surgery in about 2 weeks. Our 2 families have grown up together, living just a few houses away from each other & stayed closed through the years. They were 9 kids & so were we. Our mothers were sisters & our fathers were brothers.

I also learned today that Carlin is not doing well with his new treatments. Next week he will have a bone marrow biopsy & the T-cell transplant. Praying he improves. Tried calling earlier & could not get an answer on his phone or his mom's.
Tonight I am very tired, physically & emotionally. Tomorrow I will try to rest but I do have to go into town to get some labs done for an appointment next week with my cardiologist.

Margaret, staying home for you is not the norm. Glad you decided to take the child with you & visit with your friend. Hope it went well.

Edmee, since I usually don't post till late in the day or evening, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Margaret; I so wish I was 50 again but those days are long gone lol. I'm so happy to be alive and I'm really taking care of myself - it's literally became a full time job! I go to healthy heart 3 times a week, to ergo therapy once a week and psychologist once a week. Seeing my family doctor once a month as well. I keep bowling twice a week and do gym as well. Housework is if I have time to fit it in my busy days.

Marilyn: I hope they will do your DD's front tooth at the hospital when they do her two back teeth. Did you get your sprinkler fixed?

Dwayne; I sure hope your on the mend! As for my friend, I told her to get a second opinion too....

Mary Congrats to DGS for his pin! I also want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Only two more suppers to go - today and tomorrow. Then I will be cracking the whip and back to my regime in a very serious way! I will not let this setback take me down even if the numbers are up instead of down right now but I know this is NOT a permanent thing.

Can you imagine that this sleepless girl slept in till after 11;00 a.m. this morning!? This is my second night of sleeping well and not getting up after a few hours sleep. I'm so excited about this. Hope I can keep it up

Have a great day !

Good morning everyone.

Mary, it must have been nice to see your GS get his nursing pin. You must have been so proud of him. Today will be a different one for sure. I hope all goes well.

Marilyn, glad to hear that your DD will get relief soon. Great weigh in at Tops this week. Keep up the good work.

Dwayne, you didn't answer my question. Do you think you might be pregnant with all the queasyNess you've been hwving? I hope your DS has a great day today.

Edmee, the big 50 is getting closer. 1 more day and counting. LOL

Today I have the little one and gain and I've had enough of staying at home so I'm meeting up with a friend for lunch. I'll take the little one with me as well. She will love it I hope.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Went to pick up my sis today then rushed back home to iron DGS's lab coat & shirt for the Pining ceremony this evening. Met his GF's parents. 63 nursing students got their nursing pins. Met his favorite instructor & a few of his friends. Tired so going to bed.

Funeral tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone - praying that are you enjoying a great Tuesday.

Well today was my weigh in day - and I am so pleased with it.
Tuesday May 1 I weighed in at 273.2
Tuesday May 8 I weighed in at 268.8
This is a loss of 4.4 pounds in one week. WooHoo

Re my dear daughter. Got her to our dentist at 11:30 today. She was so good at letting him look at her mouth and even let them take an x-ray. Definitely an abscess - front tooth of all places. So next Monday take her back in and they are going to pull it. With her being Down Syndrome she wouldn't be able to stand sitting in the chair with the rubber dam and all the time it takes to do a root canal and having a partial would not work either - so appearance wise not going to be nice but at least she will not have a bad tooth. But as hubby says when she smiles she doesn't show teeth so hopefully it won't be to bad. Now we just need to wait for the dental surgeon to get her into the hospital for her 2 teeth at the back that need attention - and am hoping that will be in June before they get worse. So now we have a new electric tooth brush and a water pick to help with the plaque build so hopefully that will help.

Am also now putting her on a food plan similar to mine - no sweets at all / very low carbs which she loves but is now gone - so she should start losing weight also which is good.

Well dh has come in and it sounds like we have underground sprinkler problems - water running under the trees continually but not watering the grass and we are supposed to be watering on odd days. If it isn't one thing it is another

Well must run - back later

Good Morning '48ers,

Yes all I'm still here. Just been a couple of "Blah & Queasy" days. Still not sure why but I'm here. Today is DS - oldest - 35th Birthday! So we'll have a little celebration tonight.

Hoping all of you are doing well AND doing what you should be. Are you?

MOMTOLJ, prayers to your friend who just found out she's got cancer. Has she gotten a 2nd opinion? Might help if they didn't catch this sooner.

Well I'm off to have a little breakfast? then get ready for tonight. Prayers to all of you and I'll work to be a little chattier tomorrow...LOL!

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Marylyn: So sorry to hear about your DD having so much pain and hope they will speed it up and do something about it asap. It must be just as hard on you and know you feel her pain. Prayers for Strenght....

Margaret; you are doing quite a bit and so is your DH. Take some ME time for yourselves too. Hugs

Mary; I hope your DH can be his old self soon. I'm always so scared my DH hurts himself too as he is prone to falling often.

One of my dear friend learned this week that she only has 2 months to live - cancer. She was surprised as she just learned that day that she had this. We were over to see her last night. Not easy. She only has a DD and she's a mess and in denial.

Well, got to shower and get ready for my first session which is mostly information at Healthy Heart. Ergo therapy is Friday. Busy week. A supper tonight as well.

Have a great day

Good morning everyone.

Marilyn , sure hope your daughter gets the help she needs right away. It can't be easy for her. Hope you have a good weigh in today at TOPS.

Mary, I thought you'd get a laugh out of what I wrote to Dwayne. Sure hope you can get an appointment for your hubby soon. It must be painful for him seeing he let you go by yourself for your errands. Sorry to hear of another relative passing. It seems that at our age that's about all we here about.

Edmee, I hear your turning the New 50 in the next few days. I hope it is a great year for you. Lol.

Today I'm minding the little one again. Mom brought her over just in time for her nap so that was good.. When she wakes up it will be time for her lunch. Look at that the day will be just about finished. LOL.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Busy day running errands while DH stayed home alone because of the knee discomfort. The redness around the abrasion has gotten larger & sure don't like the looks of it. There will be a week tomorrow of the fall & it should be healing by now but it has not. Think I will have to bring him back in to see about it.

Will be going to get DSis tomorrow to come spend a few days for funeral Wednesday & 3 different graduations in the family. Thursday & Friday. Tomorrow night will be DGS's Nursing Penning Ceremony & we will also be meeting his GF's parents for the first time.

Margaret, emoticon to your post to Dwayne!! emoticon

Marilyn, emoticon to hear of your DD's abscess. Praying for quick intervention on the medical side & relief for her. Hope you have a great weigh-in tomorrow!

Edmee, 2 more days! emoticon

Morning everyone - hoping that you are all having a great Monday.

Margaret = glad you had taken the time to talk to your DGD - I think we all have people like that that just don't get it and we need to nicely but with some force let them know that it is not acceptable.

My exercise? Well it is not going well at all. Though I am losing weight. I feel confident that tomorrow I will be able to report a nice loss - stressful weekend where I usually go to food but this time I didn't but rather didn't eat much of anything - both can be bad I guess.

Had to take dear daughter to emergency late Saturday night - we went for a drive at 7 pm and she was good - when we returned at 9 pm half her face was swollen - we know that she needs to be in the hospital for some dental work - cant have it done in the dentist office due to her seizures so I thought it was either an abscess or a bug bite. Found an abscess - breaks my heart that she is in so much discomfort. Gave her some pencillin Saturday night and got the prescription filled Sunday. Called our dentist today - his office was closed but one of the girls was in doing some paper work so she called the dentist at home - we take her to see him tomorrow morning. He is unable to do the work as I mentioned in his office and he does not have hospital privileges so we saw a different dentist last November who told us it could be 12 months to get in - hate these delays - but they are going to have to do something different now as this can't wait she need the tooth taken care of now not months down the road. She is Down Syndrome, has had heart surgery when a toddler and only one functioning kidney so this can't wait - am I an anxious mom YES - and we are now going to look at getting not only a new electric toothbrush for her but also a water pick hope that that will help. Dentist has said she has very soft teeth which could be because of having Downs, Fetal Alchole and Autism - poor girl has so much going against her but she is always smiling and so easy to love and take care of - it just hurts to see her in pain -she doesn't complain and let me know the discomfort so I have had to learn over the years to watch for certain signs.

At any rate other than taking care of her, waiting for DH to have his hernia surgery and my health being the way it is - well life seems to be a challenge - but I am happy to be here

Have to run - talk again later
