It is not my intention to discourage, but rather to encourage, but facts is facts. Loose skin happens. Sometimes it will tighten up over time, but mostly not and the results of surgery to repair it can be about as ugly as loose skin. I made up my mind to forget it until after I've been at goal for two years... then I'll worry about it. I decided by weighing the results of the two paths. Keep doing what I was doing by overeating and becoming obese or lose the weight.

Obesity brings dread disease, lack of mobility, often blindness, and early death. That's not speculation, that's fact. Everybody who is morbidly obese suffers from these effects to a greater of lesser extent.

On the other hand, lose weight and avoid most of that, but maybe end up with loose skin?

I saw it as a choice between a long and healthy life or vanity. We all have a lot of hard choices in life, but for me, this was an easy one.

Best wishes to you whichever you choose.

Personally I know this can be an issue. I do feel the benefits far out weigh the downside. I have lost over 90 pounds. I did it between 2015 and 2016. I do have some lose skin, especially on the abdomen. I try to exercise daily and use creams to help.
I consider it my badge of honor. Been there done that. A reminder that at one time I did abuse my body. Now I try to take care of myself the best I can.
I say take care of your skin the best you can as you take off the weight. It will be well worth the other health benefits!

This time is THE time!

Healthy with loose skin is way better than unhealthy with fat, right?

I am 53 and have lost 35 pounds recently, which is causing sagging loose skin.
I would like to lose about 90 more pounds but I know that I will have massive amounts of lose skin if I lose all this weight.
I do not have health insurance right now to pay for skin removal surgery, but use the V.A. for medical issues , and I am afraid to lose all the weight that I need to lose because I don't want to live the rest of my life looking horrible due to the loose skin.
Any suggestions?

Don't let others keep you from your goal. Be persistent and prove them wrong. You will never be a failure as long as you get up and keep fighting for what you want in life.
