Still kickin', but seem to be battling a new plateau. Getting content with where I am and I need to do something to shake that up.

Here's a historic death for you. I'm guessing that many other folks over fifty will remember watching things happen at this site over the years:

You can do chair exercises while your knee is healing! There are also many sparkteams you can be a part of for support and encouragement! You CAN do this, just keep reaching out, you are never alone! Take care and follow docs orders about that knee! emoticon

When the obesity starts to threaten your life, it gets harder to make excuses for not doing it. Start by getting control of your diet and add activity as your body allows it. Get started and then just refuse to ever quit again. Welcome back!

Sorry for the late response. The priority now is to mend your knee. Only then can you begin to do exercises that engage that knee. I know exactly what you mean about being able to stick with it. I have the same issue. There are challenges that you may want to look at and decide if you want to join one. They do give me some motivation. You can find these on the top of the page just after "LEARN". Also, if you haven't done so already, check out the teams that are on Spark. They give a lot of support when you need. it. You can do this!

So last week after hyper extending my knee I realized that the only thing that was really going to heal it was to lose a lot of weight. It's been a rough couple of years with losses of family members and I had type II cervical cancer which resulted in a full hysterectomy. I just turned 59 last week and realized that I have to do something. I have ballooned up to 348lbs. So I have started back with Sparkspeople.
My problem is sticking with it. I'm usually good for a month or 2 and then I get "to busy"
However I'm hoping if I communicate through this board ( which I have never done) it will help. Today I weighed in and I lost 5.4lbs. Yeah !!! I want to start walking but my knee isn't up to it yet. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can start doing that. Anyways thanks for listening. emoticon
