Very interesting, Social media is nice. but we do need to interact with real people also. Every state is different..just wish more people would use the facilities..We meet the most interesting folks, We lose a lot of people along the way..so we must keep reconnecting. Thanks for responding. Yes, we have some good directors also.To have a friend..you must be a friend.

I am in Minnesota. Again, this senior center is in a community over 12,000 people and has two fantastic ladies in the director and asst director positions. Both are great at grant writing and programming with the senior center board. It truly is a great place to meet, keep connections with people and the community and to exercise!

That is wonderful! What state are you in? I am in Pa. Each county is run different.I do not know why. The Pa. lottery is supposed to be helping fund the program . Social programs are the best. Lonliness is the biggest concern..Meeting new people helps greatly. Right now Im using the exercises to get ready for my hip surgery. Then I hope to become more active..Being in a group setting is a big encouragement for me.

Our senior center has a full range of exercise equipment including machines geared towards those who aren't as mobile. Everything our YMCA has, the senior center has and it costs less than the Y. They offer circuit training as well. Besides card games, informational programs, senior nutrition, movies and an adopt a class program with one of the elementary schools, it offers a great social network. Oh, and it also has a small library and pool tables. Fortunate to have such a facility in our rural community.
