No food will replace your lost cartilage. Sorry! You might find that Glucosamine and chondroitin MIGHT help (no relief for me). Injections will provide some relief.

Have you tried Ayurvedic supplements (like triphala) and treatments, and cutting most sugar and starchy carbohydrates?? Good luck with this!

Thank you for your replies, l am watching what l eat and have lost 8 lbs, but was wondering if there was specific types of food that were better for the osteoarthritis. Rhondaj056 glad to hear your getting better. 😁

I have it too! My dr. wants me to exercise to get stronger. So do what the dr wants you to do. My dr. didn't put any limits on me. Just do what I can. And I'm a lot better than I was. I can move so much easier!

Eating -- the plate method- Use a 9 inch plate and don't pile the food on. Spark people can help you servings & portion control. Eat mostly veggies--

re exercise: whatever your doctor has cleared you to do.

re dieting: how about trying the SparkPeople way, since you came to their site! Start by weighing/measuring and logging all that you eat.

I have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. Has anyone any tips for exercising or dieting to help? Thank you in advance. emoticon
