I understand. My activity level is very affected by the weather. I know it is weird to think, she lives in Florida; why should she complain? However, my body has become accustomed to very warm weather. I love HOT. I hate it when it goes into the 60s, 50's, or 40's. I am like a little teddy bear wanting to hibernate. Finally, the weather here is starting to get warmer. However, it varies. In my living room, I have a fan on one side and an electric heater on the other. I have noticed that on warmer days, I am up and going. On cooler days, I just want to stay covered up with layers of clothes that weigh me down. I just don't want to move.

I prefer to walk outside, but if the weather is bad, I exercise inside. I have some DVD's-- I like Walk Away the Pounds (Leslie Sansone) because the steps are simple to learn and I am a klutz. So fancy dance-type steps are out, for me. Some of her stuff is on youtube so you don't even have to buy a DVD.

There are also lots of videos here on Spark, including cardio things as short as 10 minutes. There are chair exercises (limited mobility) on Spark and youtube. I don't let bad weather stop me from getting in some exercise. Today it's raining, so I'll get in some indoor cardio and then do a couple strength training videos here on Spark.

At my age, 56, I have many physical set backs and the weather has a big part to play as to how my body is feeling. snow that is very deep makes it very hard to walk, too hot or cold air makes it hard to breathe and so on.
When the weather is a hindrance, do you take a day off or find another way to get in a workout and what do you do?
