If you're plagued by hot flashes and night sweats as I was, I found that a cold, damp washcloth on the back of my neck helped a whole lot. And take comfort that it doesn't last forever.

I have a routine I follow every night before bed so I sleep well through the night.
I sleep 7 hours every night.

NO caffeine after 3:00pm.
NO napping during the day.
Two hours before bed. Get off your computer and your phone.
Finish chores. lock doors, turn off all lights except one you are using.
Sit down relax with a cup of chamomile tea.
I read a book during this time before bedtime ( it makes me drowsy)
As soon as you are drowsy. Go directly to bed. Keep your room temp cool.

I go to bed the same time every night and wake the same time every day. This routine helps a lot. I hope it helps you.

If you need something once in awhile to help you sleep take one Unisom capsule one hour before bed, works great.

I have tried EVERYTHING to help me sleep. I am currently using TART cherries. They really are working. They have Melatonin in them. You can buy them frozen or canned. They may be kind of hard to find. Don't buy SWEET cherries, only the tart.

eliminate caffeine
push more water
eliminate sugar and colorings/flavorings. I found that certain foods like chocolate or choc chip mint ice cream can keep me awake.

Eliminate caffeine?
