And here it is, January 13, 2018 and I find myself at 151 pounds -- just where I hoped I would be.

Whew! emoticon

Now it is time to get serious about losing again!

Down 3 lbs from last week! Enjoying some treats, but limiting the amount. This is a first for me

I threw all the treats away and am eating slowly and enjoying each bite which is helping me to not over eat. Friends are watching me and encouraging me also.

No wine for me, but you can have my share and I'll be the designated driver and whine while I drive.

Dave, your January sounds a lot like mine! No eye surgery, but have basal cell carcinoma mohs procedures to do. I have my broken foot followup (not healing as expected).
Also have a colonoscopy to schedule... and a trip to the gynecologist.

People complain about Christmas bills in January... I have doctor co-pays instead!

That is pretty much my plan, maintain over the holidays but I did decide to hop back onto tracking today- plus weighing- as it's been a long time. I am also going to be home alone the week after Christmas while my husband goes to visit his family so it's a good time to look at healthy meals and grocery shopping choices.

This is the year the chickens come home to roost. All my deferred maintenance has caught up with me. Starting January with a trip to the Urologist, then the eye surgeon (again), then the abdominal surgeon, then a colonoscopy, then the dentist, then a third trip to the eye surgeon assuming the second one works .... and then I'll quit assuming one of them doesn't find something else while they're sawing away on me. There is a price for getting old, but it still beats the alternative.

It's a good idea. Holidays are difficult just to keep the weight in a holding pattern, plateau. I'm doing good eating mostly well.

My gym has "Holiday Hold'em" for the weeks from mid November to early January.
The goal is to hold steady through the holidays.
They offer some nice prizes for those who 'hold'em'!

My goal is to just stay even through New Year's day -- simply endure the holidays and the pile-up of cookies, candy and other assorted sweets in my office and neighborhood; do well enough to weigh in on New Year's day at roughly my starting weight on December 7th: 151 pounds.

I don't care if I don't lose this month, just happy to hold the line!

What is your plan for launching 2018?
