Fat CAN make you fat, as can carbs and protein.
Eating more calories than your body needs makes you fat, no matter what the macros in those calories.

Carbs don't either if eaten in proper amounts. No food is taboo if eaten according to the Spark People guidelines. If deprivation diets work for you, keep doing it. Nothing says success like succeeding. If however, you get tired of it, don't fear carbs, just control them. I've tried most "diets" and have finally concluded that balanced is the way for me.

Whatever method you use to get to your goal weight, don't forget the important part is not in getting there, but in staying there. Maintenance is where so many of us fail to follow through. Getting to your goal is only the beginning and that does not end, at least not till your spirit and your body part ways. Never, ever quit!

After a year of low-carb, I have moved on to ketogenic eating. I like it! Also got two types of home tests to track my levels of ketosis. So exciting. Also, down 2 more pounds. "LCHF" stands for: "Low carb, high fat." Fat DOES NOT make us fat. Carbs do. #fatloss
