I have arthritis in my knees and suffered through a torn meniscus in my right knee. I chose to not have surgery and it took a long time to heal. When the pain became bearable, I started walking two minutes at a time and increased to 10-20 minutes as my knee completely healed. Before it started healing, I did chair fitness workouts. On TV, there is a program called "Sit and Be Fit". "Sit and Be Fit" has also put out some DVDs that are available on Amazon. You can also Google chair exercises and you will see that there are a number of options available. Get well, soon!

You need to eat the appropriate amount of calories.
Weight loss is possible, even without exercise, if you eat less calories than your body needs.

A couple months ago I had to stop my daily walking routine because of severe pain in my knee. My doctor told me that I have a torn meniscus and arthritis. In a few weeks I will have arthroscopic surgery. I was starting to slowly regain the weight I lost, and now that I cannot walk, I have definitely been gaining weight. I have regained at least 17 lbs back. I need to lose this weight and some. I have a lot of belly fat as well. What can I do get this weight back off and continue losing the weight even with the issue of impending knee surgery. I can't wait until I can get back to walking on a daily basis.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
