Thank you both and it is nice to know I am not alone. I never in my life thought i would be this big. I used to love riding my bike. I swear somehow I will ride again if my knees and hips and my body allow me. God bless you both for encouraging me.
LIsa

God bless you!!

I am much older than yourself and can tell you that we can make this the premium part of our life. I have never enjoyed living as much once I started finding a list of new things to do and started doing them

You are welcome. I just turned 55 and am determined to walk more and do some of my exercise videos 3 to 5 times a week. I used to do them regularly when I was in my 30s. They are more difficult now so I "modify" some of the moves. Usually I don't feel like walking or working out because I feel tired before I start... but I think about the Nike commercial and say to myself "Just Do It" and then afterwards (probably 99% of the time) I feel better and am glad I did. Hope you have a nice day and God bless you in all that you do! :)

Hi Lisa, I don’t usually post on message boards but saw your post and wanted to encourage you. I like what you said about baby steps and having a positive attitude. Just take it one day at a time. Calorie counting, or tracking, seems like a lot of work but in my opinion it is well worth the effort. It gets easier the longer you keep at it. I have a couple of favorite bible verses that keep me going. One of them is Lamentations 3:23 “The Lord’s mercies begin afresh each new day”. So no matter what kind of a day I am having I know that when I wake up the next morning it will be a brand new day. And a fresh start. Maybe that can help you to keep pushing forward and to not ever give up. So glad you have come back to SparkPeople and this time I hope you never leave. Take good care and may God richly bless you in all of your efforts. Have a nice day! :)

ok I usually feel really awkward talking on the message boards. I am going to try harder this time.
My name is Lisa. I have done sparkpeople before and i lost weight but something happens and i give up. I am doing this again because my health is getting bad and my work is getting harder. I am a nursing assistant.
I quit smoking over 8 years ago and put eating in the place of the smoking.
They say interacting on the message boards will help you have more success so i am all for that. I have been doing this for about a week. I am not buy certain food.
idk i just get overwhelmed with calorie counting making time for exercise.
ok I know must get positive and baby steps. God bless everyone. night

God bless you!!
