I agree with you. I used it for 6 months because I was stuck at the same weight for 2 2 years and not going anywhere. and it broke the plateau. The food I good and nutritious and they showed me what I was doing wrong.

I just ignore - it is annoying that it comes up as a pop up that you have to close to keep logging etc. - the other ads are easier to ignore!

Not sure why folks have such strong feelings about Jenny Craig, but not the other food related ads that pop up such as Blue Apron and such. For some people, prepped food is the only way they will eat portions or eat veggies. It may be the one things that saves their health or gets them the first mile of a healthier journey.

I work with group that works with Jenny Craig, so I feel hypocritical for disagreeing with idea of Jenny Craig. I feel that eating healthy and fairly clean is way to go and Jenny Craig use of mailed food seems wrong? Not sure wrong is best word. But I have friend that succeeded using that product. So if works then I guess. As long she is healthy.

The first time I saw the Jenny Craig add I was surprised as I did not think that their approach was consistent with Spark People's message but then I realized that Spark People is going after advertising dollars and perhaps loosing some of its consistent message or wanting to move people to premium. Now I just ignore the message and close it and move on.

Not about jenny craig, but those annoying political adds are just almost to much. I rarely have a problem with the adds (only my second time to complain about adds in several years) These rolling political adds, well, there's no escaping them other than leaving the site. :(

I agree that the Jenny Craig ads seem in contradiction to the SparkPeople strategy. I don't have a problem with them advertising on the site...but to have pop ups on every 3rd or 4th window is really irritating.

Thanks, Coach. I know that's true, but you don't NEED SP to get to Jenny Craig, and it creates (I hope) a misleading impression of the site's values.

Thanks for the feedback. As we've said before, different things work for different people. But I'll pass along your thoughts to our team.

It seems a complete betrayal of what SP stands for to be supporting a cash-and-carry approach to weight loss, particularly a program that requires you to use their food. What does it tell new members? I would have a harder time -- I DO have a harder time -- recommending SP to folks because of the janus-faced double messages that now pop up. And really, "EDITOR'S CHOICE" for those ads?

I suppose that most members have gotten used to it, gotten off SP, or shrug and figure, well they need the money. I'll go one of those routes, but it's sure a contradiction to have Chris Downie's blogs on one hand and Jenny Craig on the other. Split personality
