Thank you for that information. I haven't tried mine yet, so now I know to take it really slow. Otherwise I will just have to eat Chinese less often. Unfortunately, most everything made nowadays is full of soy.

One of the most commonly recommended substitutions is coconut aminos. I ordered some to try, and use them in combination with tamari to lower sodium in my asian-inspired dishes. However, I find the flavor rather... strong and off-putting. I only use a max of 2 t in a recipe. It has a really strong bite that makes my tongue feel a bit tingly. Could be the brand iI got (and of course i got 2 bottles b/c of a sale!!).

If you eat fish, you may want to try fish sauce. There are also several recipes online for alternatives, usually made with some type of broth, vinegar, molasses, and other flavorings.

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

My daughter bought Big Tree Farms brand Organic Coco Aminos. Bottle says soy free and gluten free.

I didn't notice it either, until I got home. I can't understand why they would call it a soy sauce "substitute" if it is made with soy.

Make sure the Braggs Aminos are the coconut aminos, though. I don't understand their "soy substitute" on the regular ones because they are made from soy.

Braggs Aminos would probably work well.

I don't care for soy sauce, so I substitute bouillon sometimes

Thank you. That way I can try making my own Chinese food.

Google "coconut aminos". Same umami taste, no soy, does not taste like coconut and supposedly a good sub for soy sauce.

I like to have Chinese food sometimes, but I am not supposed to have soy. Does anyone know of anything that will work for a substitute for the soy sauce and not ruin the dish? Thanks
