@BEVIEG41 Thanks so much for this Mom's Meals response. I was able to use it to get some needed meals to an much older relative in his 90's. My sibs chipped in so it didn't come to much money per person.

MSLUCAS1 - Mom's Meals is from Kaiser, with me not being a Kaiser member I have to pay $14.75 shipping. I pay $63 for 7 meals delivered. Much cheaper than the others and no mess to clean up. Here where I live in Sacramento, the temp in the summer got up to 112, so it was convenient to pop a meal in the microwave and not heat up the house. The meals all come with a dessert too, which none of the others do. Check them out on momsmeals.com. I have to watch my sodium and these meals fit the bill for me.

I tried Blue Apron and Hello Fresh, they were both awesome, but I had to always go back in the kitchen and clean the mess and would always snack. I had to make two meals because there is no meals for just one person. So I would eat them both. One for lunch and one for dinner.
BUT, I found Freshly.com and the food comes to my door already prepared and all I have to do is to micro them for 4 min and no clean up and I never had to go back in the kitchen. Lost 38 lbs.
Son and Daughter coming to visit, so I cancelled the food and went to the grocery store, spent lots of $$ and got lots of food, now having to eat the food, I gained back 8 lbs, but watching what I eat and lost 4 lbs.
BUT WAIT I found Mom's Meals, same concept, and they cater to lower sodium foods, (I am sodium sensitive) very inexpensive and the food is awesome. I get to pick and choose what I want and it will be delivered on Saturday (My choice)
So true. I justify it on the grounds that it cost so much less the restaurant meals, and also that I can't get out of the house to go grocery shopping anymore because I'm caretaking all day. But you've got me thinking – maybe when I get more organized I can cut down and save some money. Thank you!
I tried Hello Fresh at the end of June; meals were great, the convenience was delightful and not having rotting left overs was even better. I did however end up cancelling because $60 a week for 3 meals for 2 people is just ridiculous. I spend less than that while still throwing food out for all meals (bfast, lunch, and dinner) for 2 and 3 people.
so it was sad, because the meals were super tasty and fun to cook but home girl just doesn't have $240 a month for just supper. :(
