I might also add a recipe but set it to "private" because it's not my original recipe, or because it contains 3 days' worth of fat calories, or whatever other reason.
If I have a recipe I make often that I just want to log for my personal use, I will go to the food tracker, click "enter food not listed" and log the nutritional info in a popup form. This adds the recipe to the site's nutrition log, with my username in parentheses behind it, and it will come up if it matches something you searched for.
The bad news is that you can't immediately access my recipe. The good news is that you can usually do a web search for the title and find the exact same recipe I followed.
I use verywell.com to calculate nutritional info for a recipe. Sparkpeople has a similar feature but I find it to be a lot more work.
