I purchased one last month (QVC on sale). It is a wonderful tool. I have used for baked potatoes, hash browns, turkey sausage, so many different things, You need no oil. I am very happy with mine. Make sure you check any recipe to be sure you can have it on Sparks. emoticon

This has been helpful because I have been thinking of buying one. Thanks for the great ideas.

I want to buy one later this year on sale & will look for a large good cookbook for air fryers to do other things beside frying in it. Online a lot of sites that sell cookbooks have free previews, so you could see what ones are good. I would like to find one that has different containers to put in the fryer for other things. I understand they make enough for 1-2 people. I am single & think I would make use of it.

I am on the 2018 Fall challenge, Determined Daisy Team. I have pleurisy, 3 types of anemia from Iron, folic acid, other vitamins not working, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

I bought small one about 1.6 L or 1.2 qts. It works very well. I try to use it daily. I have made tortilla chips, French fries, tilapia, salmon, hamburger patties, green beans, egg frittata, blueberry muffins, roasted chickpeas. And last night I made fried chicken drumsticks. They were so tasty and just like deep fried. I am hooked. emoticon
And while my weight it up a bit, it is definitely not from the air fryer foods. In fact, I think it has helped me lose over the last few weeks.

I have the Philips Air Fryer, but must admit, I haven't ventured far from Fries, Chicken Nuggets, or Egg Rolls. All have been yummy.

I saw a previous post with links...the apple chips caught my eye. I'll have to try that.
I did try Zucchini chips, but it wasn't really what I expected.

I always enjoy sweet potato fries as long as there is not brown sugar on them. As a kid I never liked the traditional Thanksgiving sweet-sweet potato bake that my relatives always served. I just want a little salt.

I am waiting for my copper chef air fryer for the oven. I know a few people who have one ( WHO ARE NOT USING THEM TO LOSE WEIGHT, JUST WANT EAT HEALTHIER) and they can't say enough good about them
my friend has a actual air fryer and she said he( hubby) is addicted to grilled cheese sand . and he makes one every day in it. she said he loves them and doesn't have to butter the bread. ( saving a ton of calories) she makes oth3er things in it as well fish chicken pork and says nothing has disappointed her it is delicious.

One of our girls has one & since she was into cooking in a deep fryer, she loves this. But, we don't have same tastes in food. Except for French fries, I dislike most fried foods. Example: I love shrimp cocktail but can't stand fried shrimp. I have trouble eating with some family & friends who are clueless about my preferences. Their idea of a salad is potato salad & a vegetable would be creamed corn.

Last night my husband had a support meeting with a dietitian. She recommended air fryer for people who love the taste of fried foods. I reminded him that the only thing I eat that way is occasional French fry - usually stealing 3 off my husbands plate.

So I started searching for info, including Pinterest. Most of the recipes were European. That means converting from centigrade. There was a recipe for banana nut muffins, grilled salmon, grilled pork chops, etc. Now I am interested.

I looked at brands and found several good options.

What brand do you folks recommend?
Anybody have an Avalon Bay air fryer?

We have used ours at least once a week. Yesterday we did a 5 lb. hen and have divided it up to use in three different recipes. My only complaint is the cooking outside pan needs to be made of metal all the way around instead of the plastic front part which holds the guide to make the switch come on. We cracked our first one and waited to buy another airfryer onsale. Would not pay full price if I had seen this one in the store before purchasing. I definitely would not buy through the infocommercial either. We got ours from Bjs at less than a hundred dollars.

Pinterest is great for recipes. I bought a Kindle air fryer cookbook, which is basically worthless. "Air Fryer Recipes" By Steven Shaw. Only paid .99 cents so not too much of a loss. Advice I've heard is to use or buy a sprayer for oil. Uses the minimum for less calories. I've just been using cooking spray...canola or olive oil. Made homemade egg rolls and didn't use anything....they were crispy but dry.

AH someone finally replied. Sorry!

It does really excellent pork chops (cook on the chicken setting/360) for 14 minutes(more or less).

Sometimes when I'm home late---I will throw in OreIda Shoestring fries. They are only about 130 calories and sometimes I really crave fries.

This weekend I baked in it. I made an individualized cake (size of 2 cupcakes).

I didn't like steak in it though.

OH--I did like breaded shrimp in it too...but I did frozen.

Just got one also. Trying to experiment making apple chips at the moment. Can't really find what I need online. Time and temp is my problem. But I used it for chicken and some egg rolls that were great! How about you?

I just bought an air fryer...which isn't really a fryer at all. It is basically a convection oven, it cooks with air. So far, everything I cook in it is fantastic.

Since it cooks without oil---this shouldn't add extra calories, right?

Anyone else have one?
