I have no idea how or if it works using the app, but if you are using the sparkrecipes.com website then your family member just needs to find one of your recipes (such as the lentil sausage soup here: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?
recipe=3538444
).

On the right hand side of the page is a block labeled "Recipe Collections":

Recipe Collections
Here are user created Recipe Collections which have this recipe. Click here to add this recipe to a Recipe Collection of your own.

Pam's recipes
by: PDIDDLES

They can then click on "Pam's recipes" to open the collection and access all of the recipes in it.

They also could just look under the recipe title where it reads "Submitted by: PDIDDLES" and click on your user name. This will open a page with all of your shared recipes.

Once they have found one of your recipes and saved it to their own collection, then they can follow this same procedure to find any new recipes that you share.

As for the issue that you had with the 132 results but only seeing 20 of them - they are displayed 20 per page and you need to get to the bottom and click "next page" to see the next 20. Again, it might be different on the app, but that's how the webpage works.

Hope this helps!

I also am wanting to share my recipes with another family member. Do we know why some shared recipes can be found when searching, and others cannot? This seems like a problem? For example, when I search for "lentil sausage soup" it says 132 results, but I can only see about 20 of them.

I also thought she could just find my recipe collection, but there are 200K collections, and no way to search through them, only page browse!

If you set your Spark page to "friends only" for access, then adding your husband as a friend will let him get to it. If you set it to public access, then everyone can see it - whether you have them as a friend or not.

For the sake of privacy, "friends only" works nicely!

Thanks so much for the info. Do I just have to add him as a friend on my spark page for him to get access to it?

Hi there!

A couple of ways for your husband to access these recipes are:

Send / tell him the url address - he can then cut / paste it in to his browser to open the recipe, and then save it in to his own "My Recipe Box" or in a collection (he'll need to have the SparkRecipes app installed if you are using the apps and not the website).

Give him access to you Spark Page - where he can hit the "more" button on the top right from the info page, and choose "Favorites" to open the tab with a listing of your submitted / shared recipes (you have to set up your page to show this).

Hope one of these works for you!

I've entered three recipes so that I can add them to my daily nutrition tracker. My husband would like to add them to his too, but when he searches they aren't found. I' made sure to make "share" when I created them. Even when I search, I can't find them unless I go to "My Recipe Box."

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks -
