I have just gotten over a bound of depression due to stress with members of my family. But then I forgot, it is not my problem - it is theirs. I take on too much and think I can help every one. But the thing, I need to help myself first. Eat well, journal your feelings, do not weigh yourself, exercise. You need to get up take one foot at a time, one minute at a time, one step at a time. I have my support from a counselor, too. This has helped me greatly. Hope this helps.

Learning to let go is hard, but it gets easier. I am not getting older just better!

The best therapy for feeling alone and depressed is to make an effort to meet more people and make friends. Just be yourself and talk to people. the more you extend yourself and make contacts, the more opportunities you make to connect with others. There are more people just waiting for some kind person to break the ice than you might imagine.

join more groups. participate with others. open yourself up to new possibilities

Hi TURQUINHA - I notice you mention living about 10k miles from home! Perhaps you are missing the support system you had at home?

I went to have a look at your SparkPage to find out a little about you, but it is set to Private. I DID notice a photo of a very beautiful young woman who is by no means overweight. Is that you?

Regardless, IF you are often feeling like this, I strongly suggest that you talk with your Dr about what is going on because it sounds like you may have some issues that you may need help with. Asking for a referral to a Therapist who specializes in this sort of thing would be a very good start. Your Dr would also be a good person to talk to re your weight because unless you are very short, you are a healthy weight.

It would pay to check out the pain in your left shoulder/right leg pain. It may be down to incorrect technique, so if your Dr gives you the all clear, I would suggest either asking for a referral to a Physiotherapist (if your Dr sees a physical problem) who can assess you and give you exercises to help, or ask for a qualified personal trainer to check your technique to see if you are doing your exercises correctly. A lot of people see a video on the internet and follow it, but believe me, it is very easy to not be doing it correctly, or not doing proper warm-ups/cool-downs, and that can cause harm. I went to Mat Pilates Classes weekly, for a few years and the Pilates Instructor was also a qualified, practicing Physiotherapist. One day she had an International Pilates Instructor take the class for her while she (the Physiotherapist) was one of us participating in the class too. She had already told us a few times that nothing beats having someone else's eyes and to check our form, and the Instructor's hands-on approach. Well, SHE needed to be readjusted a few times in the class too. Just a couple inches here and there makes all the difference.

Background: left shoulder/right leg pain when working out, living 10k miles away from home.

Somehow lately Ive been eating healthy but not exercising much as Ive been having some leg/shoulder pain issues.

3 weeks away from the holidays and the scale shows some 5-6 pounds but somehow I feel Im utterly fat and ugly.

I know Im not, dont get me wrong, Im bloated maybe, its just that I "feel" ugly and fat and old and I sincerely need someone to hug me.

I usually support everyone but just this one time, I just need some loving.
