I think it's better to give to a worthy cause (like the Salvation Army) than to penalize all Salvation Army posts due to one incident. But sometimes it's better not to pass judgement. I wonder if it's possible that the volunteer was putting bills in his pocket to insure that they didn't get blown out by the wind or grabbed up by a bogus donor.
anything is possible.

Money and time. Once a month (it happens to be today this month) we go and serve lunch at our Salvation Army. Our town is about 45,000 people and many are hungry. Most are working poor or elderly people whose money doesn't stretch to fit the month. It is an eye opening slice of our community. The people we serve are grateful, and it is a loving experience. (Our church pays for pizzas and salad for those lunches and my husband and I man/woman the serving line.

I will drop a dollar or two into a kettle during the holidays.
I'm curious if anyone donates to AMWAY ? Many jobs ago, I worked for a company that was a big supporter. I remember they'd always encourage the employees to donate part of their weekly salary during a drive. I'd be happy to donate, something. but was reluctant to donate part of my weekly salary for a whole year. it's not like I was making a lot of money.
Yes I do. They are actually one of the better charity organizations. If you truly saw what you saw, perhaps you should had contacted the local chapter of the Salvation Army to report the alleged theft.
" I saw the worker pocketing some money. It might have been harmless, but it looked kind of suspicious to me." How did he get the kettle opened in order to do that? They are locked, to be opened at the facility. I give, every December. They do a lot in the community!

It's that time of year again, seeing the Salvation Army red bucket bell ringer volunteers outside malls and grocery stores. I used to throw in a few bucks until last year. In passing, I saw the worker pocketing some money. It might have been harmless, but it looked kind of suspicious to me.
