First of all, welcome to Spark People. The next thing I would do is talk to your doctor. If you are not happy with your doctor, get a second opinion. Wishing you the best and may God bless you!!!

Definitely talk to your Doctor. It takes a lot of trial and error to get your thyroid medication dose right. It’s very individualized . Good luck!

I ditto Coach Jen's advice to ask your Dr for a referral to a Registered Dietitian. I also suggest that you ask your Dr for a referral to a Therapist who can help you with your anxiety which in turn can help with your physical issues.

I would also strongly suggest to ask for a referral to a Respiratory Physiotherapist who can properly asses your breathing technique. A lot of people don't breathe properly and that can cause a myriad of issues, such as you describe. IF this is a factor for you, you can be given exercises to help you.

Good luck,
Kris

Call that doctor and tell them how you are feeling, don’t wait until Dec. 5. You need a live person to see you. We don’t know your body issues here.

Because of your medical history, it wouldn't be safe for us to speculate about what your diet and exercise routine should be like. I would call your doc and ask if they can give you a referral to see a registered dietitian who can create a meal plan specific to your needs. Here's an article you might also find helpful:

Hope that gives you a start,

I am 81 yrs old and was diagnosed with hypothroidism in August of this yr (2018) I had been loosing weight for months mainly due to not being able to eat much and not at all late in day.I get so much gas that builds up in my chest that I can barely breathe and sometimes think I wont be able to get another breath. lots of anxiety and sometimes panic attacks, have lots of stress and worry constantly.Of course stress makes everything much worse but cant seem to stop it. Most times I will only get a few hrs sleep at night . It finally got so bad I had to go into the ER and ended up in a rehab hospital for 6 days . I did feel better there and for a few days after I got home but fell back into the same thing pretty quick. I started on the thyroid pills(levothyroxin) in hospital 50MCG . Went to one Dr apointment, and got lab work done then.Another apointment set Dec5th I guess to check thyroid level again. I cant see one bit of difference after taking this pill for 4 months.Still severe anxiety and gas build up.

The Drs never explaiined anything abt. this disease to me tho they did tell my sonthe thyroid was not working hardly at all.

So I am pretty ignorant abt this whole situation and welcome any input anyone has!
Thanks !
