I've done several types of homemade gifts: this year I'm knitting vintage stockings to continue an old family tradition in my partner's family from the 1950's; I'v emade crochet gifts (wall hangings, hot pads in the past); I make up pre-planted bulb pots (this year its the little dutch iris bulbs; have done tulips, amaryllis). And this year's stocking stuffer for some is a decorated ponderosa pine cone! ;)

I love homemade/handmade gifts, don't you? I start making vanilla extract in the fall (so easy - vanilla beans marinated in vodka); tied fleece blankets (no sewing required - I buy the material when it's on sale so it's easier on the budget); and homemade granola (I make 2 batches at once and they divide up into half-a dozen baggies w/ some left over for me!).
