I have supposedly good scales that does this at times, too. Mine is on a hard floor, BUT it IS on a low pile carpet with no underlay, which could be the problem. I still use them, but only for a rough idea. I only really take notice of the scales at my Medical Centre. They are the big flash digital ones.

Have you changed the battery recently? If not, that would be the first thing I try. Also, make sure the scale is on a solid surface like tile or wood versus carpet.

I currently have a Weight Watchers digital scale. This morning I placed it properly on the floor, tapped it to turn it on, waited until it went to 0, then stepped on to weigh. I weighed 5 times and got 5 different weights. They were a span of over 5 pounds difference! I have followed their instructions and it always happens. I step directly on - the same each time. I need some new scales. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
