Dominique.... when I read your post I immediately smiled. Just yesterday a friend and I were discussing the effects of sugar on our will power. Your title triggered my mind to go back to this song: "Here You Come Again..." Read the words, and think of sugar as the antagonist... its a hoot!!
Certainly wishing you continued joy in your Journey. We all have to take stock of where we are, then have a good reasonable goal in mind, and then...we can make progress on a Journey towards that goal. You are on your way!! all the best, patti
First and foremost..Congratulations on choosing to give yourself the gift of self love and health. Losing weight or better yet getting healthy isn't a straight line! I don't know how many hundreds(not an exaggeration)of pounds I have lost. I weighed 300 pounds lost 100 and then gained back up to 332 lbs..Talk about a painful self hating moment! One day I woke and realized I was just so sick and tired of being sick and tired that I finally committed to being healthy. I didn't set a weight goal, I set a health goal. I finally lost all of the weight and have since kept it off for more than 10 years but I recommit to health and fitness every day. You can do this it's the toughest most beautiful journey of self love you can go on but, it's worth every uncomfortable moment!
Hello! I've lost weight before with Sparkpeople... almost reached my objective, then fell. Tried again very briefly several months later, didn't work. I just decided that it was enough and that I needed to do something, as I knew without weighing myself that I had reached a new high. Well, I did weigh myself, and my BMI was 30, which is the low index for being obese. It was a real shock.
Yesterday, when I decided that I would start losing weight today, I thought for a moment : "Wait, it's my birthday, I can't not stuff myself on my birthday! lol :-) But then I thought, you know what? For my birthday, I am going to give myself an amazing gift, Today is the day I am making real changes.
Discipline is choosing between what you want NOW and what you want MOST.
