Hi Robyn,
I hope that you don't mind if I chime in. Sounds like you feel overwhelmed, we all do from time to time. Don't ruff yourself up for slipping. You were successful here at SP before and you can do it again. You remember how to start, take small steps. Set one or two realistic goals, keep track.
You can do it Robyn, never give up!

I know how you feel. I'm a mom too (who has lost 70lbs and gained most of it back) and I can't, in good heart, take all of those 'goodies' away from my family either. Especially since, I'm the only one in my family that is overweight.

I don't want to live without it, either, just be more aware. I don't want to take the backseat to my health, and let my cravings drive, anymore.

If you want to read my profile and send me a private message, maybe we can chat and encourage one another?

Hi Robyn

First, kudos to you for being brave enough to talk about how you're feeling and what's been going on. I can tell that you want to make changes, and that's always the first step.

Have you ever met with a registered dietitian? That would be a great idea since you're diabetic, and this person could also help develop a meal plan specific to your needs and preferences. Your doctor should be able to give you a referral to see one.

Here's a link to our 21-day "Tame Your Sweet Tooth" challenge that you might want to check out:

I don't recommend making drastic changes all at once because that's hard to keep up. You're better off slowly making changes that you feel like you can live with forever so you can get off of the weight loss rollercoaster for good.

Hope this gives you a start. Let me know if you have questions.

Hi,
I have tried this several times. The first time I was very successful and was able to lose weight. Then I gained it back after almost a year. Ever since, I have been gaining and losing and gaining and losing. I am a diabetic. My blood sugar is not very good. I am a hard core sugar addict and there is ALWAYS something in the house like ice cream pie cookies. I am not the victim here I buy it too. It will be hard to just "clean it out" (I am so jealous of the people who can) because my husband and daughters dont want to lose weight (and we are all overweight) I would gladly buy a diet plan if I could find out if people had success with it. I know its a lifestyle change. I want a lifestyle change! I also work full time and have very little time to myself. I can only sleep when I take medication (which means of course I dont REALLY sleep) I need quick and easy meals that are on a schedule. That is what works for me. I HATE fish, which makes it hard, i am pretty sick of chicken but I can live with it I like pork and I love red meat and hamburger. I know sugar is heroin to me. I know I have to stop completely eating refined sugar but i havent found a sugar cleans that works for me. I have made my own juice before and it is wonderful but cleaning the machine takes so much time it is impossible. I am tired all the time. I know people have done a lot with "protein powder" and I dont know what to buy. The ones I see are SO expensive.

I lost 40lbs on spark people the first time cutting out white sugar and flour and processed foods but I just cant get it going again. AND as I am sure it is obvious I have depression. Hell, I am not even sure if I should be saying this here, but I feel really hopeless right now and need some honest direction that doesn't come with a hard sell.
