1) What is your greatest obstacle to maintaining momentum on your weight loss journey?

This time around, I was doing great, losing about 1 pound a week, until I went on a cruise. I actually maintained during that time and was thrilled to get back to my routine working full-time from home for a national health care company and then my part-time hostess gigat a local theater where I was moving fast for at least 3 hours.

All was well and then I received an offer for a new full-time position requiring me to head back into the office for at least 6 month; I may be able to work from home at that point. I am only working at the theater one day a week. I have cut calories by about 200 a day to account for the change in activity but gained back 3 of the 9 pounds I got and probably won't hit my first quarter goal.

So, long story short:what killed my momentum was unexpected change. I am still making healthy choices but apparently, my body is angry with me.

2) What strategies have you applied to break through that obstacle, if any, and how did it work for you?

1. What is your greatest obstacle to maintaining momentum on your weight loss journey? The ALL OR NOTHING mindset.
And if I bring a ‘trigger food’ into my home, I keep going back to it until it’s gone.

2 What strategies have you applied to break through that obstacle, if any, and how did it work for you? I still fight that battle.
At this point I know that I tend to go into binge mode very easily with processed foods (i.e. bread, crackers, pasta). I opt for healthy alternatives and watch my portions. I make sure to load up my plate with lots of veggies.
I try to keep a variety of healthy treats in the house (fruit, Greek Yogurt, Special Dark Cocoa Powder, walnuts, chickpeas, sweet potatoes)

Hi everyone!

One of our writers is doing an article for the site and could use some member input. If you have a few minutes, can you respond in this thread to the following questions?

1) What is your greatest obstacle to maintaining momentum on your weight loss journey?
2) What strategies have you applied to break through that obstacle, if any, and how did it work for you?

Thanks for your help!
