Get out of the house. Cut back on the sugar and get some exercise.

If I havent' done some exercise, and its too wet/cold for a walk...then I get down on the floor and start stretching.... I do some of those light exercises I've been putting off....

Next is a cup of non-sugar hot chocolate, and pick up my crocheting....

or, maybe call my sister or another friend!

uuugh I know what you mean...

Last night, I had so much anxiety and felt like doggie doo doo.

I could not sleep at all. I got on Spotify to listen to white noise, even. The type of white noise? White noise for babies to listen to...

My cough is driving me nuts and my head is yuck.

Have a super evening...

I find that exercise really helps me get out of a funk, even if it's just going out for a 15 minute walk.

Get more carbs in, your serotonin is too low. Exercise is overrated, cutesy quotes go in one ear and out the other. Been around for decades. No one who doesn’t know you really can help, realistically. If the usual drill doesn’t work, see your doctor.

Change things up. Try new recipes. Try new exercise routines. Try something different: new veggies, fruits, rituals. Give yourself a new manicure/pedicure. Try some spa products at home. Go window shopping (just for fun) and try some clothes on to see how the new you looks. Plan some new activites with friends.

If you are hitting a plateau...try changing your weight loss strategy a little

I go to Pinterest for some life affirming quotes. I repeat them over and over until I feel better. Or try to think positively.

For instance. It is cold outside. That really makes me sad. I know that on Saint Patrick's Day, we are forecasted to be in the 70's. So I remind myself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel

I agree with @URBANREDNEK sometimes a hike, a gentle walk or a little spoiling blows away the cobwebs

It depends on what KIND of funk it is!

If I'm just feeling generally sad and lethargic and lazy --- then I head for the tub with a cup of tea (or glass of wine) and a good book. I follow up with a foot and hand massage using my favourite lotion, which is my "I'm worth looking after" ritual, and by then I'm usually in a better mood. If not, odds are good that I'm either overly tired (but in denial about it) or that I'm a bit dehydrated, so I have a couple of big glasses of water and a nap.

If I'm feeling tetchy, and whiny, and snippy, and generally out-of-sorts --- then I lace up my boots and head out for a hike, usually on one of the more challenging hills. The physical exertion and getting away from people usually does the trick.

If I'm sad or moody or really down because the pain levels have been getting to me, then my husband takes me out for a drive in to the back-country, where we work on my spotting skills for wildlife --- and do some gentle hiking to keep my blood moving. Or - we get out to the range or the fields to do some shooting, since the absolute focus required takes me out of my pain and gives me respite.

Do a bit of analysis of just what TYPE of funk you are in, and then decide whether you need some spoiling to remind yourself that you are important, or some physical exertion to work off some steam, or some distraction to let your mind rest from whatever is bothering it and then reset priorities.

Take care of yourself, and hope you feel more yourself quickly!

Sir Terry Pratchett:

"Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good."
