Tracking is indeed a pain in the beginning but it really does get easier as you build your favorites. Plus, if you eat the same thing for a few days, you can copy items from day to day.

Tracking becomes less and less a pain the more you use it. As you add to your favorites and groupings, you will find that frequently only a few letters need to be typed before the right item pops up. I would advise entering your own foods from scratch as often as you can and be very thorough with it. You'll later be happy you did when you return to your favorites and an accurate entry is there waiting for you. You will also learn the hard way not to hit enter when you shouldn't and wipe everything out or put all your food in the wrong meal and have to move it, etc. Making mistakes was a part of my learning process, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Good luck with yours, you've got the right attitude.

Your recommended ranges in your Nutrition Tracker are based on the goals you put into your program setup. So if you set your program for weight loss, those ranges will help you reach that goal.

Hope that helps,

Anyone using the SparkPeople Food Tracker?
They have these guidelines for calories, fat, etc., but do I stay within those to lose weight or are those guidelines there to just maintain what weight I am at now?

Not sure about this.

I am logging ALL of the food I consume. This really tells me where I am messing up.
It is time consuming, but it makes me responsible for me.

All input is greatly appreciated.
