I also think that with the 24 hour news cycle. Plus technology. They are just more reported.

I'm amazed by the amount of Eagles fans.

I just can't root for the patriots. I almost sat on the wing of an airplane. The flight attendant was a patriots fan

Arch, thank you! I am anxiously awaiting the Pats avenging our loss. Eagles fans are nasty people. I will be cheering along with you!

I am also thankful the tsunami warning was cancelled and not much, if any damage was reported. I agree that they are being reported better.

I do not watch the news but, found out there was a earthquake in Alaska when I checked tonight online but do not know anything about it. I was checking the Post Office site for a parcel delivery tomorrow & it mentioned it & also lots of snow in many areas of Canada that are making mail delivery slow, some areas there was no delivery for 2 days. Snow is suppose to turn to rain tomorrow in most areas of Canada. As far as I know there is suppose to be a large earthquake in Vancouver but predictions are unreliable on when & it is suppose to be very large. Downtown Vancouver by the water would be the worse area to be.

I have pleurisy, 3 types of anemia from Iron, folic acid, other vitamins not working, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

No, I don't think the earthquakes are more frequent but rather they have been reported far more quickly and often more in depth, than previously. I was aware of the Alaskan one within minutes of it happening and I'm in NZ.

Do you think the earthquakes of great magnitude are new, or are we just more equipped to locate them and report them now with our technology?

Luckily, it seems the earthquake hasn't done any serious damage anywhere. There haven't been any news updates since the initial reports.

In short, there are more stories about the Pats-Eagles Superbowl.

And if we are changing thread themes, there was a breaking news story not that long ago. Two teenagers have been killed in a shooting at a high school in Kentucky. There are 19 listed as wounded. The shooter (a 15 year old male) has been taken into custody.

MPLAN,

The Vikings had a fantastic season with nothing to be ashamed of because they lost a play off game. It stinks that they took a beating from the Eagles.

But don't worry, the Patriots will avenge their loss. ;)

BTW, I love Philadelphia ! Been there many times. However, this is now sports were talking. LOL

I hope everyone stays safe!

Sorry that the Vikings didn't win. Now I'm going to have to be an Eagles fan for a day.

Sorry about your snowstorm MIlan. I would make it go poof. If I could. Although it is why it's 64 degrees in MD today.

I heard they downgraded it to a 7.9.... but that's still major! Praying for everyone to stay safe!

Hi Arch! Yes, I am in Minneapolis! we got a lot of white stuff. I have to shovel again. Rain sounds a lot better to me too right now.

Thank you for your condolences about the Vikings. A Pats - Vikings match up would have been fun. Instead, we now get some the crude Eagles and their fans for the big game here on February 4.

Morning, MPLAN !

If you're having a major snow storm, you must be in Minnesota. Bummer about the Vikings. I wanted the Patriots to play them rather than the Eagles.

And if you're not in MN, you're in the path of the snowstorm that just hit them.

PS - We're expecting an inch to 1.5 inches of rain. I'll take that instead of having to have to shovel a foot plus of snow.

My son and son-in-law live in Vancouver, BC, not too far from the water and within easy walking distance, (even for me) of it.

Goodness, Kris! I haven't even heard this yet; we've been dealing with a huge snow storm. An 8.2 quake hit off the coast of Alaska! Tsunami alerts for Alaska, British Columbia, the American Mainland's west coast, and Hawaii. Stay safe, my friends.
