I can't stand bananas. Never have. Not just that though. They also do not agree with my stomach. I much prefer apples and blueberries and, occasionally, strawberries.

Another person which a history of pre-diabetes here and I also don’t eat bananas everyday because of the high sugar content. I’ll enjoy one on a long bike ride or after a heavy workout but even then it’s a small one.

I honestly eat a small to medium fresh one just about every day. I honestly blame this on the crash diet plan I did about 10 years ago which banned bananas as unhealthy due to sugar amount. Yes, they are a little higher in NATURAL sugars but I am lucky in that I don't have any diabetes or other metabolic issues. So, I eat one almost every day, track it, and get on with my day.

I second the one before me who mentioned making delicious pure banana "soft serve ice cream" simply by food processing frozen banana chunks... SO GOOD!

I love them...but with a history of pre-diabetes, I limit my consumption. An average medium size one has almost 30 g carb and only 3g fiber....I don't need that much at one time. My exception is if I've been biking for over an hour--Indulge time!!
Usually I would rather have 1 cup of raspberries with 15g carb and 8 g of fiber though. And for potassium: low sodium V8 juice does the trick!!

I mash them and put them on pancakes or French toast instead of syrup. I eat one plain with breakfast every morning. Love bananas!

I love bananas and eat a lot of them - generally around 3kg each week. I mainly eat them on their own but sometimes I slice them into a fruit salad, or smash them onto some toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon on it. YUMMMM. Or I might use yoghurt as a dip and dunk the banana into it.

My daughter even gave me a banana plant as part of my Xmas Present LOL! I will wait to see if it sets fruit and if so, how big the hands are, 'cause if they are large ones, I will sure have a power of a lot of eating to do LOL!

When I was pregnant with my daughter 41 years ago I was at work have morning tea. My boss told me that my baby would be born with a tail and swinging from the trees. I looked down and there was a big pile of banana skins on the table. I had eaten SIX medium sized bananas in that 10 minutes. (I grabbed the bag as I was walking out the door LOL!)

I love bananas.
I enjoy extra ripe plantains. They are best when the skin in starting to turn black ... then just put them on a piece of foil and broil them for 5 minutes on both sides (no oil needed), for a super sweet treat.

New found appreciation of bananas! Great take along snack, in the evening if I'm needing a treat (particularly in winter) I can slice a banana, slick a pan with oil very lightly, and give the slices a warming on both sides- feels like luxury!

Any other simple banana ideas?
