If you have formed the habit of checking on every new diet that comes along, you will find that, mercifully, they all blur together, leaving you with only one definite piece of information: french-fried potatoes are out. ~~Jean Kerr
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~~Anais Nin

Pffefferkuchen, my father was a baker in Germany, baked wonderful cookies, so I make them for the family still. Once a year, if we want some, we have some. No nonsense of only having one, that’s baloney.

Grandma's cranberry bread. She kept the recipe a secret until she passed away. Luckily we managed to find it among her things afterward, and it was handed down to me. Now I'm the one that makes it for the family each year, though I don't sneak it into everyone's homes the way she did--I live too far away for that!

Homemade cheesecake ! One of my relatives makes the best cheesecakes. each year, it's something different. Last year, she made an apple cheesecake tart. another year she made mini cheesecakes the size of cupcakes.
Christmas is the one time of year I indulge in a wee too much cheesecake.
My family also makes wonderful Italian style cookies. I look forward to those as well.

What is the ONE treat that is synonymous with the Christmas Season for you? Will you be enjoying it this year? If so, how will you keep the portion reasonable?
The hands down winner in my Life is my Grandma's Fudge recipe. I will be making several batches to share with my Dad and family over the Holidays. When I make it, I immediately package it up in plastic/foil for the intended recipient...and away it goes into the refrigerator. So...no snitching! I leave 4 or 5 pieces in a baggie for myself...and that's all I have for the Holiday Season. Happy Holidays! patti
