I am really liking Yoga Journal, hardly any ads.

I picked up a Shape magazine the other day and peeked inside. Boy! One of these posts was RIGHT when they said it was mostly ads! I used to enjoy it back in the early 90's.

Thank you for the ideas.

I appreciated the comment about the differences between mens' and women's magazines. That is so true, and kinda sad!!!

I too, enjoy reading REAL magazines, rather than anything on-line. There comes a joy with the whole 'putting up the feet, sitting back and cozying up with a good book or magazine'.
Can't get that on the internet.
Though I had to laugh when I saw that you can get a glowing fire on your youtube screen. Too funny.

I read Men's Health sometimes myself. Once I bought a book of exercises they put out.

Oddly enough, I prefer Men's Health to Women's Health. Men's Health has more articles based on health, fitness, food, sports and well being. Women's Health tends to have more articles on fashion, makeup and such. They really do seem to have less focus on health and more focus on what to wear when you're working out. Which is fine, but if I want the latest makeup or clothing tips, I'll buy Glamour or Vogue.

I do like Yoga Journal. It's the one health magazine I've seen with the fewest amount of ads. which is nice.

I don't think there are any decent magazines out there any more. Shape had some amazing in depth articles in it years ago, but now it is nothing but advertising and beauty. They seem to use stick figure fashion models with no muscles and the outfits they wear are completely impractical. The internet has destroyed the periodicals. My brain can remember what I read in books and magazines much better than what it sees on a screen and they are fast becoming obsolete.

IDK, anything I would need to know about fitness I could find on the internet. No need to pay for a magazine, and less to recycle!

I really don't subscribe to any magazines, fitness or otherwise, right now. The only one I get is through my Minnesota Distance Running Association (MDRA) membership and is called Run Minnesota.

I actually like it because it talks about the local running scene. There are good articles about training, nutrition, stories, and such.

yeah, I forget why I stopped getting Shape; maybe the people in the photos were a bit too 'unclothed' for my taste. lol. But there was definitely a reason I stopped buying it. It would be fun if Spark had one.

I unsubscribed from Shape recently because I didn't understand how the workouts are presented and explained-but that's just me.

Hi, Everyone!
I was wondering if any of you subscribe to a favorite fitness magazine.
I used to get Shape 26 years ago, lol, and thought that was pretty cool.
How about now?
Do you have any suggestions?
