Yeah... the website has been undergoing maintenance for days now....

it sounds similar to an app i have called sweatcoin. you get money for exercising outside, Obviously it takes a lot of sweat coin to get anything for free but it doesn't cost anything so what the heck

My employer has something similar, Patti. The majority of ours have to be verified, and we get a credit against our insurance cost.

We've done some other things that are self-reported where you could earn step trackers, exercise bands, and things like that. I didn't bother because I'm already tracking activity on Spark. I don't need to track on multiple sites.

And I totally agree about putting too much personal info out there!

Sounds weird to me....but if it motivates other folks, they can spend their time doing it. I don't need it any more computer sites having information about my personal issues!!

We had a similar sort of program through our work Insurance site: you could actually get a modest yearly $$$ credit on your insurance for completing XXX number of activities: checkins, Doctor visit, weight recording, exercise. The biggest problem I saw: it was ALL "self-reported" and people admittedly(!!) just flat out lied to get the modest money reward, not to mention use work time to "keep track". (Yeah right you were only on that website--LOL!!) I think the hope was that by at least reading a bit about healthy things, someone might actually improve themselves. At the time, I was responsible for our scheduling and timecards and I certainly didn't see any drop in our sick leave use due to the program....

I've not heard of that one, but I know there are several different sites where you can wager to lose weight.

Everybody pays their ante. Some people will drop out as time passes. When you reach the deadline, the remaining participants who've reached the goal they set split the pot.

Have any of you heard of Wellcoin.com? Well, I recently discovered it and am very excited. So, I thought I would share.

It is a health currency where you earn Wellcoins for doing healthy things throughout your day.

Once you accumulate enough Wellcoins, you can go to the Wellcoin store and buy something healthy (free).

What do you think of this? Tell your fellow Sparkpeople members!
