This is a fun thread. I have a 6 year old daughter and we play this game a lot. Haha.

I am old enough to remember when there was no internet, no cell phones, no remotes.

I am old enough to remember when there was no school choice and no homeschooling.

One more of note with reference to WWII. Yesterday marked the anniversary of the start of the battle of Midway. A true turning point in the Pacific fight.

My first cell phone which was as big as a brick and almost as heavy. It dangled from a strap on my wrist wherever I went because it was too big for purses. Strangers always wanted to make a call (but calls were expensive, so only friends could borrow it!) 1988, I think. I was the first person I knew to have one. It was better than the earlier "bag phone" - which looked like a briefcase and you had to plug it in to an electric outlet. My boss had a phone in his car.

maybe if we went back to tvs with no remotes and had to get up and go and change the channel (there are more channels then there ever were back in the day), we would all burn alot more calories.

Boy do some of these things take me back! I had to wear one of those swim caps in high school during swim class. It had to be white and I had to write my last name across the front and back in black marker. Also had to wear a black tank swim suit with my name embroidered in white on front and back. I guess the teacher wanted to know who was in distress before she jumped into the pool to rescue us.

I learned to type on an old manual typewriter, one with the keys on different levels. Having very short fingers, I picked up a lot of bad habits to compensate. These were also machines that required one to return the roller to the beginning of the page by hand by pushing against a bar on the right side above the keyboard.

I was 15 years old before I ever set foot in a McDonald's. Skipped out of school at lunch and walked half a mile for a burger, fries, and a Coke. It probably cost me about $1.

Oh yes, and purple dittos--I actually remember ditto machines that I had to crank by hand! I wonder what my 7th grade students would think about that!
