Having to turn on the TV a good 5 minutes before the program started so that the TV could warm up. If you turned it on right when the show began, you'd miss the beginning while waiting for that. I don't miss that.

Driving over a heavy cord that dinged when the car hit it to alert the gas station attendant who sold gas for 35 cents per gallon, checked the tire pressure, oil, and cleaned the windows. That was truly full service, wasn't it?
Sing along with Mitch. Polio vaccine on sugar cubes. Getting dressed up to walk the boardwalk at Ocean City. The King Family show. Air raid drills in the auditorium. Someone..uh..expelled gas and everyone crawling in all directions to get away.
