    2/24/2020 7:14:52 PM, by NANCYPAT1

This morning started off with a student vomiting all over another student's desk. When moved to the restroom, she then vomited all over the aide and her clothes. The morning went downhill from there. Another student had to be picked up for a medical appointment, but not before she threw her d... Read more

Today has been a lazy sort of day. I have been recharging my batteries, resting and getting my exercise in. Tonight's dinner will be steamed veggies and air fried chicken drumsticks. Ed found them on sale for $.69 a pound so we got ten pounds and he immediately broke them into packs with two for eac... Read more

Today was another challenging day! My new escape artist had a field day today, grabbing iPads and yanking on cords plugging them in, got into my normally locked closet, broke the hook to hang her coat and book bag on, and the list goes on. She never closed her eyes, never stopped babbling, and never... Read more

Today was mixed - the morning was really successful - the afternoon fell to pieces and shattered like precious crystal! It was a challenging day! I did my homebound teaching and it looked like that was going to fall apart too, and then after about ten minutes, she got up and and worked without any p... Read more

This will be quick. Nothing has changed for the previously reported medical crises. There is however, a new one. At noon today, my friend Lisa (the one with the daughter in the induced coma) was notified her husband was on the way to the hospital in an ambulance after having a series of strokes toda... Went back to work today and am feeling a lot better. It was an early dismissal for the kids and after they left, we had a Faculty Senate meeting and then could work in our rooms. I started calling parents to remind them of their kid's IEP meetings and had one parent want to reschedule the meet... Read more

I am feeling better today but still being cautious about what I eat. Haven't had solid food stay down since Friday so plan scrambled eggs for dinner. Felt better enough to suggest Ed buy lobster tails for dinner one night this week when I can enjoy them. They were in sale for Valentine's Day. M... Read more

Woke up this morning after 9:00 a.m. Sleep continues to be a priority. My stomach is still queasy and I am going to avoid putting anything in it until it feels a whole lot better. Maybe tonight I will try some scrambled eggs. My head feels like it is splitting and my body aches all over. Can't toler... Read more

Today, I had one aide and one substitute for my 2 regular facility staff. My friend Lisa is still at the hospital with her daughter. The only change has been her temperature has dropped. My regular aide had to be pulled because so many other aides were absent again today without subs. The shortage m... Read more

Today started with the news that one of my coworkers and a good friend would not be in school today because her daughter (in her 30s and with 3 kids) had gone into cardiac arrest last night. She is in ICU and on life support. I know and have worked with both mother and daughter for more than 15 year... Read more

    2/11/2020 5:32:28 PM, by NANCYPAT1

I went back to work today, but not being 100% meant I was a bit cranky and out of sorts, especially when I was told that I may be getting another student even though I am at my legal limit now! I plan on an early night and extra rest! Miss one day and the universe falls apart. I am reall... Read more

Went to doctor, tests for both versions of the flu - negative. Chest X-Rays said no pneumonia. Started on antibiotics and cough syrup. Since I am not contagious and I might as well go to school. I have worked with bronchitis many times before and I can't afford to get further behind on my paperwork.... Read more

Today I have become more and more congested. Calling in and getting a doctor's appointment because instead of better I seem to be getting worse! To top it off, I am feeling cranky and nothing Ed does to help me seems to help! I feel embarrassed to be so cranky and my darling son just keeps offe... Read more

Today the scale shocked me! I had to re-weigh three times before recording it. I have had a weird scale experience this challenge. First up 4 pounds, down 1, stayed the same and today - drum roll please . . . I was down 7 pounds. Leaving me down 4 pounds overall. This is weird and not really relate... Read more

Debated about whether to go to school today, because I was still feeling well under the weather. Fell asleep last night at around 6:15 and didn't wake until after 6:00 thismorning. Didn't even eat dinner and I slept long but unfortunately not deeply or soundly - very little REM or deep sleep, mostly... Read more

In my class of 8 one was home sick, two were sent home sick, another two complained of feeling sick, and all the adults are feeling sick too. The nurse says they won't cancel school until tea... This morning we awoke to find that we had no snow accumulation - we could go to church! Hooray!!! I don't mind weird weather but since we have a long (over an hour) drive over winding mountain roads, we don't risk it in bad weather. Winter brings a lot of missed services and my son and I both miss w... Read more
