Research shows that optimism is good for both your physical and mental health. Optimists have been shown to be sick less often and live longer than pessimists. Apparently, a positive outlook on life strengthens the immune system, cardiovascular system and the body's ability to handle stress. Today's challenge is to spend a day noting every time you think or say something overtly pessimistic. Review your list at the end of the day, and challenge yourself to think differently over the next week. Continue to note when any negative thoughts prevail.
