Major update time!
Wow, it's been a while. A long while.
Back in March, I had a couple of big things happen!
First off, my boyfriend asked me to marry him! He asked during the Meat Loaf concert in Las Vegas that we flew out to see. Wow!
Later in Mar... Read more

Does this bug anyone else or just me?
On the Start page for Sparkpeople, there is a Green Giant ad. They show four snacks: French Fries, Potato Chips, Crackers and Cheese, and then offer one of their substitutes, which is some veggie-centri... Read more
I did it again!
I had the most amazing, fantastic vacation over Christmas! I went to Finnish Lapland for 7 days, then to Germany for the New Year (3 days) and it was the most amazing time! Did I mention it was amazing? However, I busted my knee trying to ski --... Read more
Long Time, No See
It's been several weeks since I've been here, and really, there's not a whole lot to report. I've been doing Weight Watchers at Work, and while I haven't really lost any weight, I've not gained any, either, and I've been doing some serious eatin... Read more
Well...it had to happen. I rolled my ankle really bad (again!) in the last trail run, and the doctor told me to keep it in the brace for another six weeks or I was looking at going in to a cast. My activity level has dropped to nearly zilch, and... Read more
This past Saturday, I ran in the Coyote Chase, which was #2 in a 3 trail series. We were rain-delayed for about an hour, waiting under an overpass with about 20 other people as lightening flashed all around us and it poured rain. Then as soon as... Read more
This past weekend was a busy one! On Saturday, I did a trail run, called the "Armadillo Dash". It was over at the Bonnet Carre Spillway and the trail was following an 'extreme bike trail', which meant lots of gullies, logs, obstacles, tons of sw... Read more
Still keeping at it!
I finished my 8th 5k this past Sunday, when I finished the Huey P Long Bridge run on Father's Day. I never, EVER would have thought I would type something like that a year ago. Now, to be honest, I did have to walk it, as I am still recovering f... Read more
I haven't updated in a while.
First the bad news...ugh, looking at an 8 pound gain in the last week. Working on that one. It's fixable. Having trouble getting my veggies in. Really wish I wasn't a 'super-taster'.
Been running more 5K.... Read more
Bridge series #1 5K
This past Saturday, my daughter, her boyfriend and I just completed the United Way Beat the Bridge 5k! This is the first of a 3 bridge series. I maintained my ~15 minute mile pace, while she and Scott managed to finish in the top 1000 to get med... Read more
I did it!
I am still riding a euphoric high! I finished the Crescent City Classic 10k on Saturday, and my time wasn't that bad, either: 01:38:53, which meant I was maintaining around a 15 minute mile. Go me!
I am so glad Kim's boyfriend opted out of ... Read more
I've just agreed to do the Crescent City Classic THIS Saturday! Obviously, I am going to be walking it, but I am hoping that some of the energy rubs off on me and I can run SOME of it. But, I get that cool 35th anniversary t-shirt, and it will b... Read more
Maintaining the success!
Today has got to be the day. I stepped on the scale and had gained back ten pounds this month!! I scolded myself not so much for the gain, but because my commitment to address the issue at 5 pounds had been ignored by me! Pure laziiness! And so... Read more
Addendum to Soul-searching blog
I do want to clarify a few things (like I didn't say enough before!) :)
Ideal Protein was a wonderful program for me! I never want to suggest anything other than that. Where all the other programs failed, Ideal Protein succeeded. I stayed o... Read more

Time for some Soul-searching
Recently someone posted something that had been playing in the back of my head for a while. I was surprised to see someone else feeling the same way that I did, and was relieved to see it, as well. I wish I could find their post again so I could... Read more
