So, yesterday evening, while others in our fair state were caucusing, I went to fighter practice up in Minneapolis. I mention this because, to me, this is fantastic exercise, and great fun! First of all, just putting all the armour on, you start sweating. Then, you stick a 15 pound steel helmet on your head, lift up a heavy wooden shield and a stick of rattan, and go out in the middle of the room and face some guy who's possibly a foot taller than yourself (esp. when you're only 5'4, ) and try to whack him in the head! At the same time, he's trying to whack you in the head, or arm, or leg, and so you dance around looking for an opening, get in maybe a few shots, and then he kills you. Now mind you, I've only been fighting for less than a year, so I'm still new at this. This means I usually get killed fairly often, but it's a learning process, as in any sport, and the best part is, IT'S FUN!!!
More later! :-)
