My gym

Monday, January 28, 2008

I keep seeing ads on TV for all these great gyms like Bally's and LA Fitness, and I am incredibly jealous. I go to the gym literally across the street, it's privately owned, and really the only public gym in town. It's a small town, so there are no big gyms, except the Rec Center which has a bunch of kids running around. The people who own my gym are really nice, and for the most part I think the people who go there are too. (no one really talks to each other). My problem is that it isn't much more than a gym. There are no motivational posters, music playing, full length mirrors (except in the aerobic classroom), etc. In the room where the stability balls are, there is ONE poster on the wall with different exercises, the rest of the walls are painted gray (doesn't do much for the atmosphere). There is also NO rowing machine (one of my favorite activities!). This place consists of a weight room, racquetball court, free weight room, aerobic/yoga classroom, and a cardio room. I don't know. . .I just had to vent. I think my gym needs to get in shape just as badly as I do. . .

If you are friendly with the owners, maybe you can make a suggestion. Chances are if you feel that way, others do too! We have a few options here in Cheyenne, but nothing like the Bally. I go to the Y and they do good there which I am grateful for! Chin up! :o) Vent anytime you need to!!!!!

I'm sorry your gym's not so great. At least it's close! Maybe it will get better in the future. I belong to one of those big gyms, and it's very nice - but crowded!
