Two Weeks Down!

Wow, it hasn't been that bad. 5.5 lbs down on my scale and I feel much better. I had two events that didn't allow me too much freedom...both were the basic brisket, potato salad, beans and bread. Pretty basic for banquets here in Texas. I wasn't a member of the clean plate club this time, so that was good. I was amazed at the number of calories and fat in brisket, though. That was a surprise because around here that's a staple at weddings, showers, parties, etc. I will know better next time and eat half of the plate. I will continue this blog later because I am needed by my family.

    I just visited your page and I am amazed at how beautiful El Paso is. I have never been there. I had no idea.

    I have 1 daughter who mved from the north and now lives in San Antonio. That is a pretty city too as you know having lived there.

    Em, congrats on your accomplishment! I think you're doing great. Being aware of what's on your plate is just as important as whether you eat it or not. When you know something is particularly high in calories you can then make a conscious choice to just eat half of it and fill up with an extra serving of veggies instead. Good for you!

    That's wonderful progress for 2 weeks. You're doing great. It is definitely a learning process. I am learning so much about food in general. The more we learn the more control we have over our health. Keep up the good work Em!
